Q: We are running Net "Off Lowest" Handicapping four-ball and singles match play events concurrently in our round. However, players are seeing different amounts of strokes between the two matches. Is it possible to get the two matches' Handicaps to match?
A: Yes, it is possible to allow the two matches' Handicaps to match.

At the beginning of 2024, the handicapping rules updated the order of operations of how "Off Lowest" Handicapping is applied for Four-Ball Match Play. This change did not impact singles match play handicapping leading to confusion among players who received different amounts of strokes between their matches.
Later in 2024, the USGA published additional guidance in the Rules of Handicapping (Local Guidance for Rule 7) that allows tournament committees to use the same Playing Handicap for both formats. This feature addresses the changes and will enable managers to decide on the order of operations for singles matches.
To enable this feature, follow these directions:
β
Go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Handicap Settings.
Scroll down to the section titled "Course Handicap."
Toggle to "Yes" for the option "When playing concurrent four-ball and individual match play matches in the same Round, apply off lowest to the unrounded Course Handicap in individual matches" (as shown below).
Click "Save" to apply the changes.
