Propagating Handicap Indexes

Updated over 5 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

There are three scenarios where Handicap Indexes can be propagated:

  • Master Roster > future rounds within events/leagues

  • Event/League Roster > future rounds within the event/league.

  • Event/League roster > past rounds within the event/league.

In this article, we will discuss all three scenarios.

Master Roster > future rounds within events/leagues:

After updating Handicap Indexes in the Master Roster either by updating the Master Roster via Spreadsheet, Refreshing the Master Roster from GHIN (GHIN Clubs Only) or Refresh the Master Roster from WHS (UK WHS Only), you will see a red warning message in your Master Roster (as shown below) if there are future rounds where the updated Handicap Indexes could be propagated.

To propagate the updated Handicap Indexes, click the link in the message. All events and leagues with future rounds will be listed (as shown below).

Select the events and leagues where you'd like the updated Handicap Indexes to propagate and click "Propagate". The Handicap Indexes for those events and leagues will now update (with the exception of past rounds within the leagues and events).

If you have updated Handicap Indexes individually (This is done by going to Customer Center > Master Roster > View Master Roster and clicking on the player), refresh your browser after making the changes and you will see the link to propagate at the top of the master roster.

Event/League Roster > future rounds within the event/league:

Updated Handicap Indexes within an event/league roster (Golfers > Event/League Roster) will automatically propagate to all future rounds within the event/league. There is no further action required by the manager.

Event/League Roster > past rounds within the event/league:

Updated Handicap Indexes within an event/league roster (Golfers > Event/League Roster) will not automatically propagate to past rounds within the event/league. For instructions on propagating Handicap Indexes to a past round, Click Here.
