How can I set up a Par/Bogey Competition?

Updated over 4 months ago

Q: Can we set up a Par/Bogey competition?

A: A Bogey competition can be set up using a Stableford tournament, where for bogey, you are awarded points like Stableford. For example, set anything below birdie or better 1, par as 0, and Bogey or worse as -1 (as shown below).

Note: If this is a net format, set the Handicap dropdown to the net format, and each golfer will earn points based on the net score.

Posting Par/Bogey Scores (NFG Customers Only):

Typically the maximum score allowed to be posted is net double bogey. However, there are exceptions made at the national level that allow for a minimum and maximum score to be applied to scores posted as part of a Par/Bogey competition, where the minimum score posted is a net birdie, and the maximum score posted is a net bogey.

To account for this, you can make adjustment to the tournament under the Advanced Handicap Options. To apply this setting, follow these directions:

  1. Go to the Tournament:

    1. Multi-Round Tournament: Go to Event/League > Multi-Round Tournaments.

    2. Round Tournament: Go to Rounds > Tournaments.

  2. Select the tournament you wish to edit by clicking the name of the tournament or "Edit".

  3. Go to the Advanced Options section and click the "Handicaps" button.

  4. In the Par/Bogey Competition section, check the box for "Competition scores should be posted as par/bogey competition (as shown below).

  5. Click "Continue."

  6. Click "Save."

Note: All other customers' scores will be posted in a stableford format.
