A great way to connect your leaderboards to a TV is by using an Amazon Fire TV Stick. You can "fling" (connect) a round leaderboard to a TV using a Round GGID or TV Show GGID on the Fire TV Stick.

Using this device with a TV will streamline the entire process of displaying your leaderboards onto a TV. This device includes a remote that allows you to easily control the TV display settings and enter the GGID.

In this article, we will discuss how you can set up, display, and manage leaderboards using the Amazon Fire TV Stick. You can also watch the instruction video below.

Note: If you receive an error message stating that the app cannot be downloaded, you may need to enable downloads from outside sources first. To do this, go to Home > Settings > Device > Developer Options > Apps from Unknown Sources.

Connecting a Leaderboard Using Round GGID or TV Show GGID

Follow the instructions below to display a TV Display Leaderboard or TV Show Leaderboard to the TV using a GGID:

  1. Turn on the TV and open Fire TV.

  2. Select the Golf Genius Fire TV App on the Fire TV Home Screen. Note: You may need to navigate to the apps page if its not on the home screen.

  3. Press "Select" on the remote to bypass connecting to a mobile device and enter the Round GGID.

  4. Enter the Round GGID or TV Show GGID (Click Here for instructions on finding the round GGID. Click Here for instructions on finding the TV Show GGID).

  5. Click "Go."

The leaderboard will then be displayed on the TV. At this point, no further action is needed, and the leaderboard will remain connected to the TV.

Controlling the Display Settings

After the leaderboard is connected, the blue settings bar will appear (as shown below). The available option will depend on which Leaderboard you are displaying. For complete details, visit TV Display Leaderboard or TV Show Leaderboard.

The display settings (e.g., scroll rate, font size, etc.) can be controlled using the Fire TV Stick remote (shown below). Note: Your controller may look different depending on the model you have; however, the buttons and what they control should be similar.

Using the navigation wheel of the remote, click the "Up" or "Down" button to move from setting to setting (the selected setting will be highlighted in orange). To increase or decrease a setting using the sliding bar, click the "Left" and "Right" buttons on the navigation wheel. Then click "Select" to save the adjustment.

You can also take the following actions with the remote when viewing the leaderboard:

  • Continue/Pause the display: Click "Play/Pause."

  • Move to the next screen of the leaderboard: Click "Fast Forward."

  • Return to the previous leaderboard screen: Click "Rewind."

  • Exit the TV Display: Click "Previous" or "Home."

After making the necessary adjustments to the settings, click "Close" to hide the blue settings box. To make the blue TV display settings box reappear, click the "Select" button on the remote.

Note: Some TV display settings cannot be changed on the Fire TV Stick (e.g., background and watermarks, header customization, etc.). You can manage these settings in the Manager Site if needed. For more details on all TV display settings, Click Here.

Managing Multiple Fire TV Sticks

To increase leaderboard exposure, you can display leaderboards on multiple TVs. You will need to connect a separate Fire TV Stick to each TV used to do this. You can then use the connection method described above to connect the leaderboards to the Round GGID or TV Show GGID.
