Q: Can I use Handicap Index Eligibility Criteria for Team Events/Leagues?
A: During the setup of your Event/League Registration, you can set Handicap Index requirements for your team events and leagues. In this article, we will guide you through the setup and usage of this feature.
Requirements for Team Eligibility Criteria using Handicap Index:
When using Handicap Index as team eligibility criteria, the fields for Handicap Provider and Handicap Index are mandatory during registration. If team eligibility is enabled, depending on the event/league settings, the Handicap Index and the Handicap Index Service Provider ID field (in case a Handicap Index Provider (i.e., GHIN, WHS, etc.) is set for the event/league) are checked by default and cannot be modified (shown below).
Configuring Team Eligibility Criteria using Handicap Index:
To utilize Handicap Index as eligibility criteria for team registration for events/leagues, follow these directions:
Enable event/league registration without payment or with payments if you have not already done so.
Navigate to Event/League > Registration Center > Registration Setup tab.
If you haven't already done so, set your team size. Note: The software will need this information to verify your eligibility rules.
Scroll down and click "Team Eligibility."
Check the box for the option "Handicap Index Range" (shown below).
Set the following:
Teams of: Set the team size up to 12 players.
Select for the following options (Note: Both options can be used concurrently):
The Comined H.I. must be between "X" and "X": Set a range within which the player combined Handicap Indexes must be between. In the example (shown below), the two-player combined Handicap Indexes must be greater than 5 but less than 45.
Set multiple index ranges for players: Set Handicap Indexes for player(s) with conditions:
At Least: The minimum number of golfers to have a Handicap Index within a specific range.
At Most: The maximum number of golfers that can have a Handicap Index within a specific range.
In the example (shown below), of the two players on the team, one must have a Handicap Index of 10 or less, and one must have a handicap Index greater than 10.
Note: To have additional rules for golfers part of the team, click "Add Rule" to create more rules for multiple index rangers for players.
Select Both Options: You can select "The combined H.I. must be between X and X" and "Set multiple index ranges for players" to use the rules concurrently. In the example below, the team must have a combined Index between 5 and 40, with one player having an Index of 10 or less and one with an Index of more than 10.
Click "Save" to apply the changes.
Registration with Multiple Team Sizes:
You can set a rule for each team size if you enable registration that allows multiple team sizes. For example, if your registration allows teams to register as 2 or 4 players, you can create a team eligibility rule for each team size. To do this, follow these directions:
