This feature is only available with the following products:
GolfNet/Golf Canada customers can automatically post scores to GolfNet/Golf Canada to ensure all scores are posted on the same date of play, regardless of the status of the round. This allows clubs that often forget to post scores to have competition scores posted automatically on their behalf.
In this article, we will discuss the setup and management of automatic score posting to GolfNet/Golf Canada customers.
Automatic Score Posting Eligibility
A round is eligible for automatically posting scores to GolfNet/Golf Canada if the following criteria are met (Note: Round status does not need to be set to "Completed" to post scores):
The round date must be scheduled for the current day
The round has scores (NOT random scores)
A round is ineligible for automatic score posting if any of the following criteria are met (Note: If any of these conditions are met, automatic score posting is blocked):
Course rotations are used in pairings
Any of the following tournaments are played
Scramble
Alt-Shot
2 x 2 Person Scramble
9/9, 6/6/6, or 3/3/3
Set Account Time Zone
When using automatic score posting, scores are posted before midnight based on the customer's default time zone for the event/league. To set the default time zone, follow these directions:
Navigate to the general settings:
Default Settings (Note: All new events/leagues created will use this time zone): From the Customer Center, go to Customer Settings > Default Settings > General Settings > Time Zone.
Existing Event/League: Navigate to Event/League > Event/League Profile > General Settings > Time Zone (as shown below).
Select the appropriate time zone.
Click "Save" to apply the settings.
Enabling Automatic Score Posting
To enable automatic score posting, follow these instructions:
Navigate to Handicap Settings:
Default Setting (Note: This will enable automatic score posting for all new events and leagues): From the Customer Center, go to Customer Settings > Default Settings > Handicap Settings > Score Posting.
Event/League Settings: Within an event/league, go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Handicap Settings > Score Posting.
Set the dropdown to "Post Scores to GolfNet/Golf Canada" if not already set.
Check the box to "Automatically post scores to GolfNet/Golf Canada."
Select the score type (as shown below):
Home: Everyone on the event roster is on the selected course/clubs handicap roster.
Away: No one on the event roster is on the selected course/clubs handicap roster.
Competition: The scores being posted are part of an organized competitive event, typically organized by a committee, and are used to differentiate between regular rounds and more significant competitions.
Click "Save" to apply the settings.
Score Posting Results
You can find score posting results from the Player Roster Logs by going to Round > Round Player Roster > Player Roster Log. There will be one of two messages:
Scores were successfully automatically posted to WHS: Scores were posted successfully. After the scores are successfully posted, the customer can see the full report on Rounds > See Posting Results. The report includes both successful and failed player score post.
Automatically posting scores to WHS failed: Scores were not posted successfully.
Disabling Automatic Score Posting
For All Future Rounds or Existing Events/Leagues
If you have previously enabled automatic score posting for an event/league, go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Handicap Settings. > Score Posting. In the section "Score Posting," uncheck the option "Automatically post scores to GolfNet/Golf Canada" and then click "Save."
For the Default Settings for Created Events/Leagues
If you have previously enabled automatic score posting for new events or leagues, from the Customer Center, go to Customer Settings > Default Settings > Handicap Settings. In the section "Score Posting," uncheck the option "Automatically post scores to GolfNet/Golf Canada" and then click "Save."
