Q: We are running a Four-Ball stableford, and there seem to be some discrepancies between the players' scores in Golf Genius and the posted results on WHS Handicap Service Provider site (e.g., England Golf, Scottish Golf, etc). Why is this happening?
A: When posting Four-Ball scores to a UK WHS Handicap Service Provider, Golf Genius sends the four-ball scores, rather than individual gross scores for each player. That’s why you aren’t seeing individual entries for players, the UK WHS Handicap Service Provider receives the Four-Ball scores as a team unit.
When Four-Ball posting is enabled correctly, the system works as follows:
Both partners are tied together for posting. If one is deselected, the other is too.
WHS then applies its own calculation rules for individual handicapping impact.
Occasionally, you may see messages like “Not enough scores.” If the UK WHS Handicap Service Provider determines a player didn’t have the required number of valid scores contributing to the team scores, this message is displayed.
For your event, the scores are being sent in line with UK WHS Handicap Service Providers guidelines. They complete the calculation of how each player’s record is updated from these Four-Ball scores. You can find the official explanation and infographic on your UK WHS Handicap Service Providers website. Resources can be found on your UK WHS Handicap Service Providers site on how scores are calculated. The graphic below is from England Golf WHS, but can also be found on other UK WHS handicap Service Providers' sites.
