Login Restrictions

Restrict IP addresses and prevent users from logging in on the web or mobile apps

Updated over a week ago

At Towbook, we understand the importance of protecting your company's most valuable data.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce Login Restrictions, a new feature that gives you greater control over how and where your team members access your Towbook system.

What Are Login Restrictions?

Login Restrictions allow you to manage user access by:

  • Defining approved IP addresses

  • Restricting specific user types, like accountants, drivers, or dispatchers, to the approved IP addresses

  • Blocking access via web or mobile apps for drivers or dispatchers

How to Access the Feature

To set up Login Restrictions:

  1. Click the 'Settings' tab

  2. Open the 'Users' submenu

  3. Select 'Login Restrictions'

Configuring Login Restrictions

Here’s a quick breakdown of the different Login Restriction sections and how to configure them:

IP Address Restrictions

Choose which user types can only log in from specific IP addresses.

NOTE: Don’t forget about remote employees, multiple office locations, or team members using different Wi-Fi networks

User Access Control

Limit how certain users can access Towbook:

  • Block drivers from using the web app

  • Block dispatchers from using the mobile app

Approved IP Addresses

Add trusted IP addresses to control where users can log in from.

Towbook displays your current IP address; click the 'copy' icon to copy it.

To add it to your approved list, click 'Add IP Address', then either paste it in the 'IP Address' field or simply choose 'Set to Current IP', if it's one you want to allow.

Track Restriction Activity

Managers can also review login restriction history at any time via the 'History' tab to monitor for any changes and ensure organizational compliance.

'Login Restrictions' is a security tool, and is included in the Enterprise Plan and above
