Rules: Daily Loss Limit

Daily maximum loss thresholds for account protection and risk management.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

CRITICAL WARNING: The DLL should NEVER be used as a stoploss.

  • Using the DLL as a stop may cause your account to breach the Trailing Max Drawdown due to slippage in volatile markets.

  • The DLL is not a hard stop and will not stop at the exact DLL amount.

  • Losses may exceed the DLL limit before the system triggers protection.

  • Tradeify is not responsible for any losses if you use the DLL as your stop loss strategy.

The Daily Loss Limit (DLL) applies to our 'Growth' and 'Lightning Funded' accounts.

Once reached, trading is paused for the day to manage risk. This is a soft breach , meaning you can resume trading the next day if you haven't hit your Max Trailing Drawdown.

The DLL restriction on Funded 'Growth ' and 'Lightning Funded' accounts will be increased to your drawdown amount when your account hits 6% profit. This goes into effect the following market session , and is not immediate.

Key Benefits

  • Risk Management: Protects gains and account longevity.

  • Discipline: Encourages structured trading practices.

  • Emotional Control: Prevents emotional decisions after significant losses.

Example:

  • Starting balance: $100,000

  • Daily Loss Limit: $2,500

  • If losses hit $2,500, trading stops. However, if your EOD trailing drawdown is only $2,000 away, reaching that point will result in a hard fail.
