Rules: Permitted Times to Trade

Market hours restrictions, weekend limitations, and time zone considerations for trading.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

All positions must be closed by 4:59 PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday, before the market closes. A trading day spans from 6:00 PM to 5:00 PM of the next day.

Trading can resume when the market reopens at 6:00 PM Eastern Time Monday through Thursday and on Sunday evening.

On holidays when the market closes early, all positions must be closed by 12:59 PM EST/EDT. This is earlier than regular trading days.

If you're unsure about holiday market hours, announcements are always made in our Discord server.

Any open positions while the market is closed will be automatically closed by Tradeify. This will not result in a fail or loss of account.

In short, you are not able to swing trade or hold positions over multiple days.

This is for all account types, even Live. Important notes about trading days:

  • A trading day spans from 6:00 PM EST/EDT to 5:00 PM EST/EDT of the next day.

  • If you place trades in different market sessions on the same calendar day (e.g., 1:00 AM and 7:00 PM), they will count as two separate trading days.

  • Trading days during holidays count as independent trading days, even with shortened hours.
