What is a Trading Day?

A trading day (market session) runs 6:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET, so trades at 10 AM and 7 PM count as two days. Payouts need the 10-second rule. Rithmic holiday half-days are recorded at the next full close.

A trading day is counted as at least one trade placed from 6:00 P.M. ET to 5:00 P.M. ET the next day.

Tradeify users should know that trading days are a critical part of the system, consolidated from 6:00 P.M. ET to 5:00 P.M. ET on the following day. It aligns trades and provides clarity on account processing.

The term can cause confusion, so it may be easier to think of it as "Market Session" instead.

To qualify for a payout in Tradeify, users must fulfill trading activity requirements, including the 10-second rule on funded accounts: over 50% of trades held longer than 10 seconds and over 50% of profit from those trades.

For example, if you placed a trade at 10:00 A.M ET and then another at 7:00 P.M ET on the same day, you might think that that's one "trading day," but it's actually two, because the trades fall on two different market sessions.

Rithmic accounts: On the Rithmic broker, a holiday half-day (shortened session) is not recorded until the next full market close. The day still counts as a trading day, but the credit (and any payout based on it) may not post until the following full session closes. For example, a Friday holiday half-day is recorded at the following Monday's market close.
