You can now create trade notes before your trade is imported and link them later once the trade is available in your account. This update removes a major blocker for journaling in real-time, especially for traders whose imports may be delayed.
Why this matters
Previously, Trade Notes had to be tied to an imported trade. This made it tough to capture thoughts right after a trade if the data hadn’t synced yet.
With this update, you can:
Journal your trade live or immediately after execution
Keep your thought process consistent, even before the trade appears in your account
Link the note later once the trade is imported
How to create a trade note before importing a trade
Go to your Notebook: Click on Notebook > Trade Notes from the left sidebar.
Click New Note: You’ll now see a new note created.
Add your thoughts: Title the note and write your journal entry - include mindset, setup, reasoning, or anything else.
How to link a note to a trade after importing
Once your trade is available:
1. Open the trade note
2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
3. Select Link to Trade
4. Choose the correct trade from the dropdown and click the Link button.
5. Done - your note is now linked!
Need to remove it? Use the same menu and select Unlink from Trade.
Quick Tips
You don’t have to wait for trades to import — jot your thoughts down right away.
This feature is perfect for real-time journaling and prevents missing key insights.
Linking is optional - you can leave a trade note unlinked if it’s a general observation or prep note.
You can only link one note per trade, and one trade per note.
