Understanding Trade Replay and Backtesting in TradeZella
TradeZella provides two powerful tools for improving your trading performance β Trade Replay and Backtesting. Both help you analyze your trading decisions, but they serve different purposes and offer unique capabilities.
π Trade Replay Overview
Trade Replay lets you relive your actual executed trades second by second β just like watching a recording of your own trading session.
You can observe how price action unfolded, where you entered and exited, and how your decisions aligned with the market in real time.
Itβs a great tool to:
Review emotional or impulsive trades.
Spot missed setups or exits.
Strengthen discipline by studying real trading conditions.
Note: Trade Replay is exclusive to the Pro Plan.
π§ Backtesting Overview
Backtesting lets you practice and simulate trades and test playbooks/strategies on historical market data β without using real money or executed trades.
Instead of replaying your own trades, you can:
Open a Backtesting Session on any supported symbol.
Scroll through historical charts as if the market were live.
Place simulated trades (entries/exits) using the same order panel.
Track performance and analyze results within your journal.
Every trade you make in Backtesting behaves like a live trade:
P&L is calculated using historical price data.
Orders are executed at the exact candle and time you choose.
You can pause, rewind, and fast-forward the chart for flexible testing.
