Purpose of Merging and Splitting a Trade:

  • When you import trades into TradeZella, the platform automatically groups your executions into logical trade groups.

  • We understand that some traders may want to adjust these groups to better reflect their trading strategy. That’s why we’ve added the ability to merge or split trades as needed.

Step-by-Step Guide to Merging and Splitting Trades

Merging Trades:

  • Visit the Trade Log Page by clicking on the “Trade Log” button on the left side of your screen.

  • Select Trades to Merge: Check the boxes next to the trades you want to merge.

  • Click on the “Bulk Actions” button, then select “Merge trades” from the dropdown menu.

  • Choose the executions you want to merge and click the “CONFIRM” button to finalize the merge.

Error While Merging Trades: To avoid errors, merge only trades with the same tickers, accounts, contract types, or instruments.

Splitting Trades:

  • On the Trade Log page, select the trade you want to split by checking the box next to it.

  • Click on the “Bulk Actions” button, then select “Split trade” from the dropdown menu.

  • Choose the executions you want to split and click the “SPLIT” button to finalize the action.

Merging and splitting trades in TradeZella allows you to tailor your trade groups to reflect your trading strategy better.

By following the steps above, you can easily manage your trades to ensure they align with your analysis needs. Whether you’re merging trades for a consolidated view or splitting them to analyze specific executions, these features provide the flexibility you need to optimize your trading records.
