Your Notebook is your personalized space for all your journal entries, trade recaps, and notes. It’s designed to keep everything organized, making it easy to track and review your trading journey.
Adding Notes
When you add notes to your trades, they are automatically synced and stored in the respective folders within your Notebook. Notes added to your Daily Journal are saved in the Daily Journal folder, while trade-specific notes go into the Trade Notes folder.
You can add notes in several ways:
Directly from the Daily Journal page.
From the Trade Tracking page under the Trade Notes or Daily Notes tabs.
Directly from the Notebook page.
Pro Tip: To get more writing space, you can always collapse the sidebars!
Deleting Notes
To delete a note, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the note and select “Delete.”
Once deleted, the note will move to the “Recently Deleted” folder, where it will remain for a period before being permanently removed.
Sharing Notes
To share a note, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the note and select “Share.”
You can then copy the link and click on "continue" to start sharing with others.
Downloading Notes
If you want to download a note, click on the three dots icon and select “Download” from the dropdown menu.
This allows you to save a copy of your notes in PDF format for offline access.
Adding and Removing Tags
You can add tags to your notes by typing the tag in the "Add Tag" field and clicking "Add" next to the tag name in the dropdown.
Please note that trade tags and note tags are different and do not sync.
You can use note tags on the Notebook page to filter your notes effectively.
Creating New Folders
In addition to the Daily Journal and Sessions Recap folders, you can create as many folders as you’d like. This helps you organize your thoughts while keeping everything in one place.
Note Templates
One effective way to systematize your process is by creating templates.
How to create a template:
Go to Notebook.
Click on the three dots beside your selected folder.
Click “Edit Template.”
Type in a template format that you’d like to follow.
Hit save.
This template will automatically populate when you add a note under that folder.
Best Practices
Block a Time for Trade Recaps: Schedule a dedicated time in your calendar for doing a trade recap. Whether you’re a night owl or prefer to do it right after your trading session, choose a time that works best for you. Consistency is key!
Create a Goals Folder: Make a specific folder to house your Goals for the Year. Break these down into Quarterly Goals, Monthly Goals, and even Weekly Goals. This approach makes it easy to revisit and track your progress straight from your journal.
Develop Templates for Your Daily Journal: Set up templates for your Daily Journal folder to encourage regular entries. Consider including the following sections:
Pre-Market Game Plan: Outline your strategy before the market opens.
Watchlist: Keep track of the stocks or assets you’re monitoring.
What I Did Great: Reflect on the successful aspects of your trading day.
Mistakes I Made: Acknowledge areas for improvement.
Reinforcements to Myself: Positive affirmations or lessons learned.
Overall Recap: Summarize your trading day as a whole.
Your Notebook is an invaluable tool for organizing your trading journey. By leveraging its features and following these best practices, you’ll ensure that your notes are well-structured, accessible, and insightful. Keep refining your process, and your trading journal will serve as a powerful resource for continuous improvement.
