We take fraud very seriously and take steps to prevent the marketplace and sellers from payment fraud.
Currently, we do not allow an order to be placed when charges fail AVS postal code verification or when charges fail CVV verification. If you are trying to buy and run into an issue with a rejection, please contact your issuing bank to verify the details and try again.
For sellers on the marketplace, under the notes and tags sections, you can see certain information about what our fraud systems are doing. We do not allow any orders where billing and shipping are not the same to even be placed. When an order does come through, we analyze the data, and if anything alerts us, we ask the buyer to pass an additional verification check. Once they do, we capture the payment and notify you. If we do not get the verification, or the buyer rejects even doing the verification, we may cancel the order on your behalf.
If you feel uncomfortable shipping that item, it is best to either reach out to the buyer to see if you can verify more information, or simply cancel the order/fulfillment entirely. Please note that if you are connected via one of our store connectors, simply rejecting or canceling the order does not trigger it back into our system, so you have to manually come and reject the order. If you have already stated it was fulfilled, please let us know so we can make sure the buyer is credited properly.
