Manual Credit Card Entry in the Trail’s End App

If you are unable to use Tap to Pay and do not have a Square Reader, you can still accept credit card payments by manually entering the card information in the Trail’s End App.

Manual card entry is available on both iPhone and Android devices.


How to Manually Enter a Credit Card

Step-by-Step Instructions (iPhone and Android)

  1. Tap Make a Sale in the Trail’s End App.

  2. Select the product(s) the customer is purchasing and add them to the cart.

  3. Tap the Cart button to check out.

  4. Select Card as the payment method.

  5. Tap Manual Card Entry.

  6. Enter the following information:

    • Card number

    • Expiration date

    • CVV

    • ZIP code

  7. Tap Charge to complete the payment.

Once the payment is processed, you will see an order confirmation screen and can send a receipt to the customer.


Manually Entering an American Express Card

When manually entering an American Express card:

  • Use the card number and expiration date from the back of the card.

  • For the CVV, use the 4-digit number on the front of the card (not the back).


Helpful Tips

  • Manual card entry is a great backup option if Tap to Pay or a Square Reader is unavailable.

  • Credit card processing fees are covered when using the Trail’s End App.

  • If manual entry is not working, try updating or restarting the app and your device.
