This new feature streamlines the process of signing as a driver multiple documents during loading with a single link for the same transport. It eliminates manual work and confusions for the driver that before had to handle individual links to each document and sign them one by one after authentication. The bulk signing makes the process more efficient for the driver and aims to increase the usability of our product during loading to ensure the smooth digitization of the transport documents. The user is able to receive the link to the documents via:
QR code on the mobile public flow (Android, iOS, tablet, mobile)
desktop (shipper sharing the link to the documents)
Why have we created this feature?
Currently, when a single transport consists of multiple documents—due to different consignors, consignees, or locations—drivers receive separate URLs for every document. This requires repetitive authentication and individual signing flows for the same physical truckload, leading to high friction.
This new feature streamlines the process by providing a unified Transport URL. It allows drivers to authenticate once and sign all documents associated with a unique Transport ID in one go. It eliminates redundant steps, reduces the time spent at the loading site, and makes the Digital Transport Document workflow significantly more efficient.
Benefits
Reduced Friction: One link and one authentication for the entire truckload.
Time Efficiency: "Sign All" logic moves all documents to "In Transit" status simultaneously.
Clarity: A unified view of all documents (eCMR, CDP, etc.) associated with the Transport.
Legal Integrity: Maintains individual handover for recipients to ensure legal clarity at unloading.
How it works?
1. Transport-Level URL Generation
Whenever a Transport contains more than one document (eCMRs, CDPs, etc.), the system automatically groups their individual links to one single link to be shared with the driver that contains all documents associated with this Transport. Instead of a deep link to a single document, the system generates a Transport URL that acts as a container for all child documents.
2. Driver Notification & Authentication
The driver receives one SMS or Email notification.
Step 1: Language Selection & Auth
Upon clicking the link, the driver selects their preferred language.
The driver authenticates via SMS/Email once. This single sign-on grants access to the "Transport View" containing all listed documents.
3. Bulk Signature Flow (Driver)
Once authenticated, the driver enters the unified transport screen where all documents are listed.
Step 2: Sign All Documents
The driver clicks the "Sign All Documents" button.
The system applies the signature to all eligible documents within that Transport simultaneously.
All documents are updated to "In Transit" status immediately.
Note: To ensure efficiency, individual signing buttons are still available. Once a document is signed individually we add a ‘signed’ green label to it so it’s visible on the list of the documents on the overview.
4. Handover to Recipient
While the driver signs in bulk, the recipient flow remains independent to ensure legal compliance for each specific delivery.
Step 3: Individual Handover
Upon arrival at the unloading location, the driver selects the specific eCMR from the Transport list.
The driver clicks the "Handover to recipient" icon for that specific document only.
The recipient signs for their specific goods.
Shipper Desktop Functionality
Shippers and Dispatchers can also trigger this unified flow from the back office.
Sharing Documents: In the "Overview" screen, when a shipper searches for a transport containing multiple documents, the "Share documents" action will generate the unified Transport URL and a corresponding QR code.
Validation: This button is active only if the documents are in "Ready for loading" status, meaning signed by the shipper.
Real-time Updates: If a document within the group has already been signed individually, a notification will inform the user to prevent duplicate signing attempts.
Note: The user needs to manually search by ‘Transport’ on their desktop overview of all the documents in order for the list of documents associated to this transport to appear with the button on the top right corner ‘Share documents’.
What is out of scope?
Mobile Pick-up flow: This logic currently applies to the driver’s Public Flow (SMS/Email link).
Shipper Bulk Signing: Shippers without the 'autosign' setting key must still sign documents manually from the desktop.
Recipient Bulk Signing: Recipients must still sign each document individually to maintain legal evidence of delivery for specific goods.
Pro-Tip: This feature is a global UX improvement and is applied by default to all transports with more than one document. No setting key activation is required!
