Multi-Select Partners & Suppliers - Carrier Allocation Setting
We have added a multi-select feature for Partners and Suppliers in Carrier Allocation. Instead of creating multiple individual rules, you can now configure a single rule that automatically applies if any of the specified partners or suppliers match the order details.
Matching Carrier Rules with Operational data
You can now add Constraints and Cut-Off Times for carrier service levels directly inside your Rate Zones and Surcharges.
Instead of relying on manual checks or risking missed pickups, the system can now automatically blocks carrier choices that cannot meet your specific deadlines or cargo limits.
How This Helps Your Daily Operations
1. Avoid Missed Pickups and Costly Last-Minute Changes
The Problem: A carrier has a strict 3:00 PM cut-off time for Next-Day Express in a specific region. If an order is finalized at 3:30 PM and assigned to that express service, the carrier will reject the pickup, forcing you to find an expensive last-minute alternative.
The Solution: By setting a cut-off time constraint in that Rate Zone, the system automatically checks the order time. If it is past 3:00 PM, the system skips the expired express option and routes the shipment to a valid alternative.
2. Prevent Rejections for Weight or Size Limits
The Problem: A carrier offers a service level that only uses small delivery trucks in tight city centers (e.g., maximum 500 kg). Assigning a heavy or oversized shipment to this service leads to immediate delivery rejections and penalties.
The Solution: You can now add weight or size limits to a service level for specific Rate Zones. The system evaluates the shipment's weight and dimensions first, automatically filtering out any service levels that cannot physically handle the load.
3. Keep Your Quotes and Booking Costs Accurate
The Problem: When planning complex routes, it is easy to accidentally quote a customer or book a carrier using a rate that is actually invalid because an operational deadline was missed.
The Solution: Because these rules live right inside your Rate Zones, your cost estimates and automated bookings stay accurate. You will only see and use rates that are fully valid for that specific timeline and location.
How it Impacts Your Workflow
When setting up your shipping rates in Rate Zones/Surcharges, you can now add specific boundaries—like cut-off times, operational hours, and weight limits—to individual carrier service levels within a Rate Zone.
Automatic Filtering: The system automatically checks your shipment details against these rules during carrier selection.
Smarter Choices: If a shipment breaks a rule (like being too heavy or too late), that specific carrier option is hidden, ensuring you only book options that can successfully complete the job.
