Carrier Allocation Setting: Carrier service level, required rate, and country multi-select

New functions have been added to the Carrier Allocation setting to:

  • verify if for a specific carrier a rate is given

  • a carrier service to be validated (nShift usage only)

  • set up rule once for several countries

How To Use

  1. Open Settings → Carrier Allocation

  2. Carrier service level — Where nShift is enabled, choose the integration service level from the dropdown for that carrier. The field is shown only when nShift is enabled.
When that carrier is assigned, Control Tower uses that service level on the transport order and when it looks up freight rates.

The goal is that the assigned carrier and the applied rates stay aligned. You do not get a cheaper rate that belongs to a different carrier service level.

  3. Require a matching rate — Enable the option so allocation only succeeds when Rate Explorer finds a valid rate for that carrier (including constraints and cut-off).

    • The Action: run allocation as today.

    • The Result: a valid rate is applied with the carrier.

    • The Rule: if there is no match, allocation is skipped (Skipped, no rate match) and the backup carrier is tried when configured.
Carrier confirmation is unchanged: a reject still moves the TO to the backup.
With the option off, Specific Carrier still assigns the carrier without a rate.

  4. Country multi-select — On Origin Country and Destination Country, select several countries (Its an OR check either this or that country are on the TO). One setting can cover more than one origin or destination country instead of a row per country.

Rate Zones can match several partners and service levels

A Rate Zone used to be tied to a single partner and a single service level, so the same lane had to be copied for every combination. As user you can now maintain one zone that matches several Transport Order partners and several service levels.

How To Use

Enabled in Cost Management

  1. Open Cost Management → Rate Zones and edit or create a zone.

  2. Select more than one partner and/or more than one service level on the zone.

  3. Save. Rate search and Carrier Allocation use the same matching.

Nshift - UN packing type on dangerous goods for carrier integration

Dangerous-goods packing type sent to the carrier was taken from the physical package, not from the UN number operators maintain. As customer you can now set packing type on the UN number so nShift receives the DG packing type at part level.

How To Use

  1. Open Master Data for UN Numbers.

  2. Set Packing type on the UN number.

  3. Create or update a TO with those parts. The integration payload uses this packing type as DG packing type, not the handling-unit package type.

Nshift - Do not rebook after the order is already booked

Edits on an already booked nShift Transport Orders could trigger an update again and reprint labels. You as user can now suppress those updates per carrier so a booked shipment is not sent again on every change.

How To Use

Activation is per carrier (nShift):

  1. Enable the setting for the nShift carrier.

  2. After the Transport Order is BOOKED, further edits no longer call nShift update.

  3. New bookings still go out as before.

Improvements

  1. Grid exclude filters can keep blank cells — Use !TEXT+ (for example: !Germany+)in a grid exclude filter so rows with an empty value in that column stay visible; !TEXT still drops blanks.

  2. Improvements of missing fields for v1/transportOrders/{transportOrderCode}/packages/{packageIdentifier}/packageMilestone API

  3. nShift Dangerous-goods weight splitting — Gross weight can be split in a carrier-scoped way across linked parts.

  4. Spot bid errors — Failed Spot actions show a clearer error to you as user instead of failing silently.
