To upload your masterdata and rate zones you first need to download the Masterdata upload file. This file can be found in the Portal Admin section under Masterdata and then "Upload excel"
The "Download Template" button will initiate a file download. Once the file is downloaded you open the Excel file.
The Excel contains a number of tabs, look for the "Rate zones" tab
Rate Zone
Specifying the zone code will create a rate record and this zone code can be used in the following tabs: Rate zone Customers ( Sales Rates ), Rate zone Carriers ( Purchase Rates ), Rate zone lanes, and Rate zone lines
When you paste your data, make sure you "PASTE VALUES"!
Specifying Sales or Purchase rate is done in the zone type column:
From here on you can specify if the rate zone will apply to billing legs specified as Air, ocean, rail, or road. The Surcharge column allows you to specify if the record should be considered a surcharge.
Surcharges work exactly the same as rate zones, however, the big difference between rate zones and surcharges is that rate zones can only be applied once on an order while multiple surcharges can be applied to 1 order. If you select Surcharge, the rate will be added in the Surcharge masterdata instead of the Rate Zone Masterdata.
If you are creating rate zones, this column should say False
Source zone can be used for the discount rate, for example, if you want to have rate A be applied with a discount of 10% when service level A is used, then enter rate A here and enter service level A in the designated service level column.
It is important to create the rate zone first and then add the lanes and lines. If you enter regions on the Basics tab, the Lanes tab will be hidden and the countries within the selected Regions will be used. Rate Regions can be created in the Rate Region Tab.
Lanes
Lanes are used to define the geographical scope of the rate card.
Two options:
Use a Route Code: This matches the rate to a Route, a Route itself can be matched to an order. Effectively linking rate to orders for fixed routes like milkruns
Use the postcodes: Create postcode zones that define whether the rate card can be applied to an order.
Example: When Rate Card has below settings then it will be matched to the order when its first collection is anywhere in the range BE2000-BE2060 (e.g. BE2018) AND its last delivery location is anywhere in the range BE9000-BE9200 (e.g. BE9120). Rate Zone will be disregarded otherwise.
Orig from: BE2000
Orig until: BE2060
Dest from: BE9000
Dest Until: BE9200
Origin from/until postcode zone is matched to the first collection location, Destination from/until postcode zone is matched to the last delivery location.
Lines
Lines represent the rate brackets which allow you to have different rate components for a higher value based on the Rate Type
Minimum: Bottom end of the bracket
Maximum: Top end of the bracket
Flat Rate: Flat rate that will be applied if the base value matches min/max of this bracket
Unit rate: Unit rate that will be multiplied by the base value matching the min/max of this bracket
Unit rounding: This rounds the base value into increments as specified.
For example: if the user enters Unit Rounding 5, then if the order is 14km, it will be rounded to 15km.
