The purpose of the carrier allocation feature is to ensure that the system will automatically allocate a carrier to all transport orders based on pre-configured settings.

The settings can be configured in the Carrier Allocation settings menu:

Upon opening the settings window, the overview grid is visible where you can find the list of the settings that have already been established. You can edit or delete each one by clicking on the relevant icon to the right.

By clicking

you can start creating new settings.

You can customize the settings according to your requirements by defining the right filters:

  • Division

  • Customer

  • Supplier

  • Service Level

  • Hazardous

  • Waste

  • Organization

  • Company Code

  • Order type

  • Transport mode

  • Temperature controlled

  • Billing vehicle type

  • Parts

  • Material Groups

to which the settings should apply. Moreover, to narrow it down, you can select specific Origin and Destination location, country, and/or region of the order. Note that only Division is a required field while the others are meant to help you specify the exact orders to which should the carrier be allocated.

You can now select a new option, "Not linked to any material group," to include material lines without an assigned Material Group in their filter criteria.
Once you are satisfied with the filters you can select which allocation rule should be applied. There are four allocation rules:
