Adding a surcharge for cancelled orders

The goal of this settings table is to ensure that the system would automatically add surcharges to a Sales / Transport Order upon cancellation

Example:

* 50% of freight cost if cancelled after 15:00 on day 0 if the collection is day 1.

* 100% of freight cost if cancelled 5 hours before collection.

The left side of the table allows you to specify which type of orders the cancellation surcharge should apply. It can be based on location, customer, carrier, service level, or shipment property.

Once this is specified you can set the cancellation logic.

The deleted costs are the cost types to which the cancelation logic should be applied, it can be Extra, Insurance, Spot rate, Freight, and/or Surcharge.

The system will only be able to apply the cancellation surcharge if one ( or multiple ) of these cost(s) is already present on the order.

Exclude weekend days to make sure that orders with a billing date on a Saturday or a Sunday are not included in the cancellation logic.

If the base cost on which the cancelation surcharge should be calculated should always be deleted from the order, you can activate the checkbox to always delete costs.

Rules

Time Frame cut-off time: In the example below, the system would consider 1 day after order creation at 12:00 as the cut-off time for cancellation surcharge. this means that if the order is canceled at 11:00, no surcharge will be applied. After 12:00, the surcharge will be applied.

Time Frame time Range: Here you can determine the time range during which orders can be cancelled without extra cost. If you were to set it to 4h for example, the order can be cancelled for free 4 hours after order creation ( or any of the other options ). After the 4 hours have expired, the surcharge will always be applied upon cancellation.

Charges: Here you can specify how the charges should be applied. A percent rate will be calculated on the costs specified in the "apply to" section. A fixed rate will always apply the same cost

Adding the rule will move your configuration to the right side of the table allowing you to make a second rule if you required. Clicking the rule on the right side of the table will allow you to configure and re-save it.

How do I only remove costs without adding surcharges?

Currently, there is no setting to only remove costs from the order, however, there is a workaround.

1) Set the cancellation logic to apply to all costs and activate the always delete costs feature, the costs will always be removed.

2) In the charges section, apply a percent rate to a cost that you know will never be used on an order. This way the system will not be able to apply an extra surcharge leaving the cost section of the order empty.
