What are the different roles and their permissions?

When a user is invited to Slot Booking, the role and his permissions must be defined. In this article, we explain the different roles.

The role of a user defines his permissions in the Slot Booking application and which locations and/or facilities he has access to.

We have 5 different internal roles:

  • Master admin

  • Location admin

  • Facility admin

  • Planner

  • Operator

Next to these internal roles, we have one external role, that allows you to invite your carriers to the tool, so that can manage their own settings (address, logo, driver's info, license plates,...) and book their own slots:

  • Carrier admin

Now, time to get into detail, here are all the roles, and their permissions:

Master admin

Users with this role:

  • have access to all locations and facilities and can edit all settings.

  • can invite users with the following roles: master admin, location admin, facility admin, planner, or operator role

  • can invite/delete carriers

  • can create, delete and apply templates for all location(s)

  • can book, edit, reschedule, cancel and switch slots

  • can create bookings in the past and book outside slot ranges

  • can edit the schedule for last-minute changes

  • can add milestones

Location admin

Users with this role:

  • have access to one or multiple locations and can edit its settings.

  • can invite users with the following roles: facility admin, planner, or operator

  • can invite/delete carriers

  • can create, delete and apply templates for his location(s)

  • can book, edit, reschedule, cancel and switch slots

  • can create bookings in the past and book outside slot ranges

  • can edit the schedule for last-minute changes

  • can add milestones

Facility admin

Users with this role:

  • have access to one facilities and can edit its settings.

  • can invite users with the following roles: planner, operator

  • can invite/delete carriers

  • can create, delete and apply templates for his facilities

  • can book, edit, reschedule, cancel and switch slots

  • can create bookings in the past and book outside slot ranges

  • can edit the schedule for last-minute changes

  • can add milestones

Planner

Users with this role:

  • can have access to one or multiple locations and facilities

  • can create, delete and apply templates for his location(s)

  • can invite/delete carriers

  • can invite users with the operator role

  • can book, edit, reschedule, cancel and switch slots

  • can create bookings in the past and book outside slot ranges

  • can edit the schedule for last-minute changes

  • can add milestones

Operator

Users with this role:

  • have access to one facilities

  • can add milestones

Good, with this in mind you can invite co-workers and carriers to the application!
