Schedule Calculation: Transit time

How to apply Transit Time and how it works

Besides auto-complete and initial delay, you have a 3rd option: Transit Time.

You can find this in Admin -> Settings -> Material Order Settings.

This setting allows you to set a time window (in minutes or days) for the scheduled time calculation on your Transport Order.

The scheduled times will be calculated based on the available scheduled collection/delivery time on the Material Order and the Transit Time value of the matching rate zone.

For example: If you have a transit time of 120min between collection location A and delivery location B, this time will be added to the collection or detracted from the delivery FROM or TO depending on the value.

To clarify this, here are a few examples:

When you open an MO and select a collection location and a delivery location.

The collection location says you can collect FROM 14:00 and you don't have a collection TO schedule. In this case, the transit time will apply on the collection from, which means the delivery From (or earliest time of delivery) will be 16:00.

The same applies if you set a collection (you can pick it up until x time) TO time, but not a collection FROM. In this case, the collection time TO will be 14:00 and the delivery time TO will be 16:00.

This also works the other way around. Sometimes it could be that the delivery location says: I need the goods before x time. This time will then be added in the delivery scheduled time ( FROM, TO or both )

We can add in the MO: Delivery TO is 16:00, so the transit time of 120min will count back to get a collection TO, which will result in 14:00 collection time.

You can add this time in minutes or hours: Admin -> Cost Management -> Rate zones -> Lanes

The setting is standard in minutes. If you want to use days, select the Transit Time in Days option shown in green.
