🚀 New features

Unmanaged freight / Exworks

In the case of EXW or FCA transport, the carrier is contracted by either the sender or the receiver party. This adds a layer of complexity to the use case since the shipper has no contact with the carrier and, thus, is not able to manage the carrier pool.

For this flow, we created a public login page on which everybody with a valid combination of Transport Order number and date (end of the slot range), can book a slot.

Book a slot

All fields in the booking wizard will be pre-filled with data from the TO. Additionally, the carrier/supplier can add a comment, carrier name, license plate, and driver name.

In the end, the slot suggestions are calculated based on the shipper’s dock preferences. The supplier/carrier can choose and book the slot that fits him best.

When booking a slot, you’re asked to provide an email address so we can send a confirmation email afterward.

View booking info in SB

When the supplier/carrier books a slot, it’ll appear in the shipper’s list view and schedule view. The shipper can access the detail page for more info or when wanting to edit the slot.

View booking info in TMS

The license plate and driver info will be filled in CT.

The user will see the carrier in the flyover.

Update booking from SB/TMS

Users with the correct rights can update, reschedule or cancel the booking anytime. The person that booked (and left his email address) will receive an email.

Update booking from the public booking page

Updating the booking is possible via the following:

  • The public booking page

    • Fill in the TO number and date, and you’re redirected to the slot detail page where you can update the driver info, license plates, comment, update or cancel the booking

  • The email

    • Via the button in the confirmation email, you can access the same slot detail page

Side flows

  • TO is reassigned to another carrier

    • The initial carrier will receive a cancellation email

    • Depending on the booking rules: the new carrier is asked to book a new slot or is reassigned to the old order

🌈 Feature improvements

Unmanaged freight / Exworks

Add documents via the unmanaged booking flow

This feature allows users to add documents via the unmanaged booking flow.
Documents will be visible for the shipper in Slot Booking (not in Control Tower).

The booker is able to add, edit or delete the documents when editing the booking.

Show contact information in the booking wizard

When booking from the public booking page, the user doesn't have the contact information of the warehouse/shipper and will be stuck when there’re no available bookings. This feature allows the shipper to add a phone number or email address that will be displayed in the wizard.

The shipper can add an email and phone number for every location.

When this info is filled in, it will appear in the wizard.

🐛 Bugs

Unmanaged freight vs booking requirements

  • The questions marked as ‘hidden’ shouldn’t be displayed in the booking wizard when booking via the public booking page.

No slot ranges

  • When a TO is created via CT or another external system, SB shouldn’t apply a standard slot range of one week.
