This new feature streamlines the process of handing over goods from the Shipper to the Driver using digital technology. It eliminates paperwork and makes the process more efficient.

Step 1: Scanning the QR-Code

After the Shipper signs the eCMR (electronic Consignment Note), the Driver needs to pick up the goods. The Shipper's warehouse worker will show the Driver a QR code.

  • The Driver uses their smartphone to scan this QR code.

  • Once scanned, the Driver gains access to the eCMR.

  • They need to enter their name and phone number for identification.

  • After entering this information, a PIN code is sent to the Driver via a text message.

  • Entering the correct PIN code gives the Driver access to the eCMR.

Step 2: Stepping through the eCMR

Once inside the eCMR, the Driver will go through several screens to complete the goods handover process. Here's what they need to do:

Confirm the departure time

The Driver confirms the departure date and time. They can modify it if needed by using a date-picker, entering the date and time manually, or setting it to the current time.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

Confirm Carrier information

The Driver checks and can make changes to the information about the carrier, including the license plate, driver name, and phone number.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

Viewing Shipment Information

The Driver views specific instructions related to the shipment, which could be instructions from the Shipper or other documents they need to pass on to the Recipient.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

View Carrier Agreement information

This screen displays information about the transport contract.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

Providing remarks

The Driver can add remarks or notes about the transport, such as load capacity, net weight, or Customs documents.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

Review Shipper findings

Any findings or notes from the Shipper are displayed for the Driver's awareness.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

Confirm shipment quality

The most critical step is confirming the quality of the shipment. If everything looks good, they press the 'ALL GOOD' button. If there are any issues, they press 'PROBLEMS' and can add comments or take/upload pictures.

Clicking NEXT will bring the Driver to the following step.

Sign the document

The last step involves checking details like the license plate, driver name, and any problems. If all is correct, the Driver presses the 'SIGN CMR' button. A digital signature is added to the document.

If all is correct, the SIGN CMR button can be select.

Step 3: After Completing the eCMR:

The Driver receives two text messages:

  • One contains a link to the CMR document in PDF format for any authority checks during transport.

  • The other activates a QR code that the Recipient will need for goods handover at the unloading point.

Step 4: During transport

If authorities need to see the CMR during transport, the text message sent at the time of signing opens the CMR document.
It can be that on some devices a message is provide that a pop-up window needs to be opened.

Step 5: At the unloading point

When the Driver reaches the unloading point, they can select the text message containing the QR code. This opens a new screen with the QR code, which the Recipient can scan to begin the Goods Receipt process.
