This new feature streamlines the process of adding another driver to the eCMR workflow to hand over the process of the signature towards the recipient in cases where more than one drivers have been involved on the transport. It eliminates paperwork and makes the process more efficient. The user is able to add another driver via:

  • mobile public flow (Android, iOS, tablet, mobile)

  • desktop (shipper & carrier back office)

Adding a new driver via mobile public flow

Step 1: Driver Island screen:

After the Shipper signs the eCMR (electronic Consignment Note), the Driver needs to pick up the goods. The Shipper's warehouse worker will show the Driver a QR code. Once the driver scans the QR code and completes the signature process he/she receives one SMS text or email with the link to the driver's 'island' screen when he can take the actions below:

  • Add a comment in case there are any noted remarks from the drivers during transit and after the first driver that loaded the goods signed the document

  • Add another driver in case there will be another driver taking over the goods for unloading after the goods were loaded

  • Download the PDF document for personal use or to show it to the authorities if needed

  • Show the QR code to the recipient to handover the goods so they can receive the 3rd signature from the recipient and complete the process

Step 2: Add another Driver:

From the driver's 'island' screen the driver has the possibility to add another driver by clicking on the relevant icon:

After clicking the button they will see on their screen the information they need to add.

  • Licence plate No.

  • Driver's name

The current driver has then the possibility to share the document with the other driver via"

  1. E-mail

  2. Phone

  3. Share QR code

Once the desired way of sharing access is selected the driver needs to click on the save button on the bottom right corner of the screen. The driver then will receive a link via E-mail or SMS to authenticate him/herself and get access to the driver's 'island' screen with the same actions. As a second or third or any additional driver you don't need to sign the document again.

Step 3: Handover the goods to the recipient:

When the last driver arrived at the recipient and he/she is ready to handover the goods they can use the same link they received when they were shared the eCMR and click on the 'handover' button.

The QR code will appear to be presented to the recipient or shared via E-mail or SMS.

Adding a new driver via desktop (shipper or carrier back office)

The Shipper or the Dispatcher from the carrier back office are also able to add one or more drivers if they have this information and they want to share the eCMR with the drivers.

To be able to add one or more drivers you need to open the document on your desktop, scroll to the Carrier (Field 6) and click on the + DRIVER button.

Once the user has clicked the button they will be able to add the Licence plate No. and driver's name on the pop up window. The user needs to select how they wish to share access (via E-mail or Phone) and click on the save button.

When the first driver signs the document all the drivers added and listed on the table will receive the link to the driver's 'island' screen and will be shared access to the transport according to the shared access selection they have each.
