Feature Improvements

🌈 Feature improvements

Expanding carrier allocation filtering options with Material Groups

Background

Previously, users faced a limitation in the Carrier Allocation Settings where they could not select "null" or unassigned values in the Material Group filter. This meant that every material line needed to have an associated Material Group, or it would be disregarded in the carrier allocation rules.

Goal

To address this issue, we have introduced a new feature that allows users to filter material lines in carrier allocation settings based on Material Groups, while also considering material lines that are not associated with any Material Group. Users can now select a new option, "Not linked to any material group," to include material lines without an assigned Material Group in their filter criteria.

How to Use

  • Have the Material Groups created in the Masterdata

  • Have the parts associated with such material groups

  • Create a transport order with parts linked to material groups

  • Create a carrier allocation setting by selecting the material groups you would like to filter and also selecting the new option "not linked to any material group"

  • Then, it will filter orders containing material lines (parts) with Material Groups assigned and also material lines (parts) that do NOT have a material group assigned.

    • If you do not check the new option "not linked to any material group", it will only return ordesr that has specifically the selected Material Groups.

Automatic Calculation of "Calculated Office Hours" on Transport Order (TO) for billing

Goal

The primary goal of this feature is to extend the automatic calculation of "Calculated Office Hours," which was previously available only on Sales Orders (SO), to Transport Orders (TO). This enhancement ensures that "Calculated Office Hours" are determined based on the location's opening hours and holidays master data, with the calculation reflecting the 1st collection point. The feature also ensures consistency by disabling manual selection of this field, similar to how it operates on the Sales Order.

How to Use

  • Make sure you have opening hours and holidays properly set

  • When a Transport Order (TO) is created or saved, the "Calculated Office Hours" will be automatically calculated and populated based on the 1st collection point's and respective opening hours and holidays.

    • Note that any default values for "Office Hours" have been removed from TO settings to align with this new automatic calculation process.

  • The calculated office hours will be displayed on the Transport Order form, on the billing details section.

Sharing grid view with user groups

Goal

The goal of this feature is to streamline and simplify the process of sharing Transport Order (TO) or Material Order (MO) Grid views with multiple users by enabling the selection of user groups. This enhancement eliminates the need to manually select individual users, especially in scenarios involving a large number of recipients, improving efficiency and usability for operators who regularly perform this task.

How to Use

  • When sharing a TO/MO Grid view, users can now select entire user groups instead of manually selecting individual users.

  • The selected group will appear at the top of the selection list, and the shared view will be sent to all users within that group at the time of sharing.

    • any changes to group membership after sharing will require resending the view.

  • Users can still choose to combine individual users and groups in the same sharing process, ensuring flexibility.

Order Type Code on Transport Order inherit from underlying MO(s)

Goal

The objective of this feature is to ensure that Transport Orders (TO) automatically inherit the Order Type Code from the associated Material Orders (MO) upon creation. This enhancement eliminates the need for manual entry of the Order Type on the TO.

How to Use

  • Make sure an order type is defined for the Material Order

  • When a Transport Order (TO) is automatically created as a result of a Material Order (MO) creation event, the TO will now inherit the Order Type Code directly from the MO.

    • If there is only one MO associated with the TO, its Order Type will be automatically applied to the TO.

    • However, if multiple MOs with different Order Types are involved, the Order Type field on the TO will be left blank, requiring the user to manually select the appropriate type.

Estimated Collection/Delivery as External Events

Goal

The purpose of this feature is to provide enhanced visibility into changes related to Estimated Time for Collection (ETC) and Estimated Time for Delivery (ETD) by enabling these fields as external events within the Control Tower Roles. This functionality ensures that any updates to ETC/ETD are automatically communicated to external systems, keeping relevant stakeholders informed through their ERP.

How to Use

  • As an admin user, you can now go to the Control Tower Roles settings and find two new items under the Events section: "Estimated Collection" and "Estimated Delivery." These items are flagged with an icon to indicate that they are external events.

  • When enabled, any updates or inserts made to the ETC/ETD fields will trigger external events, which will then be communicated to the respective external systems.

  • You must have a proper setup/integration between our application and your ERP to receive such external events.
