How does it work?

Compliance to legal regulation in some countries requires providing a unique numbering of eCMR documents.

The following rules need to be applied:

  • The first two characters represent the ISO code of the country where the eCMR has been issued

  • The following 12 digits is a sequential number

  • The final three digits will identify the company that is responsible for processing the eCMR, the software provider

Another regulation is that there cannot be a gap of numbers. In case a document will be deleted, the provided number should be either be re-used, or be shown as a VOID eCMR. Authorities should be able to check a list of provided eCMRs without a gap of the numbering.

Listed scenarios for deletion of the document in DTD:

  1. Tour cancelled in Transport Assignment for a Transport

  2. Deletion of the document in status 'New'

  3. Deletion of the document in status 'Loading'

If any of the above actions are taken via the user we then delete the eCMR document in DTD and we place the eCMR No. used for that document on the bank of numbers to be picked up from the next document that will be generated.
