Add Equipment to a Vendor's Tread Account

This guide provides a step-by-step process for adding equipment (trucks, trailers) to a Vendor's Tread account.

Example Scenario

  • Your vendor has a new truck which needs to be added

  • You want dispatch access to a vendor's truck


Navigate to Settings, click "Vendors"

Navigate to Settings, click "Vendors"

🔔 If you don't see this button, use the in-app chat to let us know which vendor(s) needs to be managed. You can also email support@tread.io, and send us a list of the vendor(s) you would like to manage.

Click "Equipment"

The Equipment tab is where you can view all of the vendor's trucks. Click "Add Equipment"

Enter the Truck Number/Name and Equipment Type

Share this truck to YOUR company if you need dispatch access

Click "+ Add Shared Company"

Select YOUR company

Set the access level to "Dispatchable"

Click "Create"

In the table you'll see the truck you just added

Congratulations! You've added equipment to a vendor's account.


Next: Assign the vendor's truck to the vendor's driver

Click "Settings"

Click "Drivers". This is YOUR list of drivers

Click the "Select Truck" field and assign the driver with a new truck. For example you want "Joe" to drive "5398".

Back in Dispatch you'll see Joe is assigned to 5398
