How to create rates in Tread

Written by Marco

Rates allow for Tread to help assist with your Accounts Payable and Receivables. After a new Account or Project is created, a rates should be added to facilitate billing.

Rates can be set up for each specific Customer and Vendor/Hauler. Additionally, Default rates can be created so these are applied to any Order or Job that doesn’t require specific rates.

Note: Note: Admin role is required to access Rates.

Using a Rate Card

When Orders are created, Rate Cards will be added to the Order based on the Order Details. For both Vendors & Customer, a Rate Card will be added to determine the total payable or receivable margins.

Rate cards are added to determine total payable or receivable margins.

When multiple rate cards match, Primary will be used first. Toggle Rate Cards to update the forecasted totals.

To create a Rate:

Log into the platform on desktop or laptop here: https://app.tread-horizon.com/

  • Click on Settings→Rates→Create Rate Card

Rates can be configured so they are applied by Vendor, Customer, Project, Equipment & Service type. If when the rate is created, a Project, Equipment, or Service the rate is not selected, the rate will apply to all.

Select the checkbox Apply Global Fuel Charge to link rates to Project or Order, and link a Project to a specific Rate Card, Equipment or Service type.

You can also set the new rate as the Primary Rate. This will mean that whenever you create a new order or project, you can use this as the primary rate or use it as Default.

When creating an Hourly rate, you can use a Rate Charge Logic:

  • Minimum Billing Unit

  • Billing Increments

This gives you the option to set limits or guidelines on what your minimums or hourly increments should be used for your rates.

These rates will be used when creating an order, and will be available for you from the Rate Details section of the Create Order or Edit Order dialogs.

  • The Manual Rate Selection toggle, indicates if the applied rate is coming from a rate card or if it is custom rate, and if prefered, you can change the rate type and adjust it manually.

  • Matching Attributes, are visual indicators to show which attributes are being used to define the rate card list shown in the Rate Card dropdown.

Add On Charges

For Accessorials like Redelivery, After-hour Deliveries, Diversion Miles, etc. Tread provides the option for you to include the Add-ons you need to conduct business.
