Supported Countries
Tria cards are available to residents currently living in a wide range of locations, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, the UAE, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among many others.
For the full list of over 200 supported regions, please check the "Country" dropdown menu within the Tria app during your card purchase.
If your country is not part of the list, do not select another country as this will result in KYC failure since the documents have to match your country of residence.
The KYC Flow
You can start your KYC once you have purchased your first Tria card. The best part? You only need to do this once—subsequent card purchases won't require you to repeat the process.
The Step-by-Step Process:
Mobile Only: Open the Tria mobile app (KYC cannot be done on a desktop).
Select "Complete KYC": You will see this option after your first card purchase.
Add Details: Enter your personal information accurately.
Photo Verification: Take a live photo and upload your documents.
Submit & Activate: Once submitted and successfully verified, you can activate your card for immediate use.
Common Reasons for KYC Failure
Duplicate, Regulation Violations:
Typically occurs if you already have an existing account where you have completed KYC verification. You can have only one Tria account, and hence such cases are declined.
Check if you have an existing account on Tria that was created with the same set of documents, phone number, or any other overlapping details.
Problematic Applicant Data:
Occurs if you uploaded or entered incomplete/incorrect/insufficient information while processing your KYC.
Compromised Persons:
This error typically occurs in cases where you are suspected of being a Politically Exposed Person(PEP) or under international sanctions.
Document Missing:
These cases occur if you have not uploaded/incorrectly uploaded a certain document when submitting KYC.
Unsatisfactory Photos:
These cases occur when your photo is not verifiable or does not match with the photo in your documents. This could either be due to improper lighting conditions for the live image captured/document uploaded or due to a picture mismatch. You should upload photos accordingly.
Bad Proof of Identity:
This occurs when your uploaded documents are not supported for verification. You should retry by uploading another document.
Wrong User Region:
This occurs when you select a region while purchasing the card that does not match your location according to the documents or with your live location.
You have to select the location with the following requirements:
a. Where you are present during the submission of the application
b. Have supporting documents for the same region.
Often, users coming from countries where Tria cards are not available select random countries, with the idea of bypassing the KYC with their existing documents; this will result in KYC failure.
LIVE PHOTO VERIFICATION
During the process of submitting the KYC application, you to capture your live photo for verification. The picture has to match the picture on your documents uploaded. Since the verification process involves an external link embedded within the app, you might often face cases where
You are unable to open the interface
Your camera does not turn on for you to capture a photo
You are required to give camera access to the Tria app to proceed with the photo capture process. The process for allowing camera permissions can be found here.
You have to be present in a well-lit condition while taking your photo in order to successfully pass the verification process.
Requirements for Success
To ensure your application is approved on the first try, please keep these rules in mind:
