Overview

Medications are shown in two places: on the Medications page (sidebar tab) and per health topic (when viewing a topic's Medications page). On the Medications page you see all medications for the current patient, grouped into Current Medications and Past & Inactive Medications . When viewing a topic, the list is filtered to medications tagged with that condition. You can add, edit, and change status (e.g. current vs past) when you have the right permissions.

Accessing Medications

On the Medications Page

1. From the app menu : Desktop — Click Medications (Pill icon) in the right sidebar. Mobile — Open the menu (hamburger or menu icon) and tap Medications .

2. On the page : The Medications page shows a medications table with Current Medications and Past & Inactive Medications (collapsible).

Per Health Topic

1. From the topic dashboard : Open a health topic (click a topic on the Topics page). In section 2. About My Case , click the Medications card.

2. From Topics, open a topic, then go to that topic's Medications page — click the Medications card in section 2 (About My Case).

3. On the page : You see the topic header and a card titled Medications for this topic . A View All link returns you to the Medications page. The table lists only medications tagged with that topic.

Medications Table Layout

• Current Medications : Expandable section listing medications you're currently taking. You can edit and change status from here.

• Past & Inactive Medications : Expandable section for medications no longer current. You can restore them to current or edit/remove as allowed.

• Add medication : When you have add permission, a quick-add area appears so you can add a new medication (name, dose, etc.). On the topic medications page, new medications can be tagged with that topic.

• Edit : When you have edit permission, each row supports editing (e.g. name, dose, status, topics) via an edit control; edits can open in a dialog when configured that way.

• Medication history : For a given medication note, you can open its history to see past changes.

Adding a Medication

1. Check permission : You need add permission (e.g. `add_note` for the patient). If you don't see the add area, you may not have permission.

2. On the Medications page : Use the quick-add field to enter the medication and submit.

3. On a topic page : Use the same quick-add area; the new medication will be associated with that topic (and you can add more topics in edit if needed).

4. After adding : The medication appears in the table (usually under Current Medications). You can edit it to set or change status and topics.

Editing a Medication

1. Check permission : You need edit permission (e.g. `edit_note` for the patient).

2. Open edit : Use the edit control (e.g. pencil or edit button) on the medication row. An edit dialog or form opens.

3. Update fields : Change name, dose, status (current vs past/inactive), and which health topics it's tagged with.

4. Save : Confirm save. The table updates; if you're on a topic page, only medications for that topic are shown.

Medication Status (Current vs Past)

• Current : Medications you're actively taking. Shown in the Current Medications section.

• Past & Inactive : Medications you've stopped or that are inactive. Shown in Past & Inactive Medications . You can move a medication between current and past via the edit or status control when you have edit permission.

Viewing Medication History

For a specific medication note, you can open its history to see when it was added and how it was changed over time. From a topic's medications page, open the medication and use the history link.

Permissions

• Add : Requires add permission (e.g. `add_note`) for the patient. Without it, the add-medication area is hidden.

• Edit : Requires edit permission (e.g. `edit_note`) for the patient. Without it, you can view but not change medications.

• Topic tagging : When editing, you can associate a medication with one or more health topics so it appears on the right topic pages.

Troubleshooting

"I don't see the option to add a medication"

• Confirm you're on the Medications page or a topic medications page and that you have add permission for that patient.

• Refresh the page; if you still don't see it, your role may not include adding medications for this patient.

"My medication isn't showing on the topic page"

• Medications are filtered by topic. In edit, ensure the medication is tagged with that health topic.

• After saving, the topic medications page shows only medications that include that topic in their tags.

"I can't edit a medication"

• You need edit permission for the patient. If you only see view, your role may not allow editing.

• Try refreshing; if the edit control still doesn't appear, contact support or your care team.

Limitations

• The medications feature cannot set medication reminders or alerts.

• Medications cannot yet automatically sync with your pharmacy or external prescription systems.

• The medications list may provide some information on drug-drug interactions and allergies, but all decisions about interactions and allergies must be confirmed with a doctor.
