Why is identity verification required?
TRIBBU has introduced mandatory identity verification for users who activate the BBono Energético or access financial incentives.
Once verified, users can earn and withdraw CAEs, as well as receive rewards through the referral programme.
Previously, only basic personal information was collected without being verified, which allowed users to enter unvalidated details.
Identity verification has been introduced to help prevent fraud and comply with regulations that require both drivers and passengers to verify their identity.
How does it work, and what information is collected?
During the verification process:
Images of your national ID card (front and back) are captured.
Your personal information is automatically extracted from the document.
Your identity is verified using facial recognition technology.
The entire verification process is handled by INCODE, our identity verification provider. TRIBBU only receives the extracted text data and does not store any images or biometric information.
Please note:
Spanish NIE documents that do not include a photograph are not currently supported. An alternative verification process may be introduced in the future.
Passports and driving licences are not accepted as valid identity documents for this verification process.
When do I need to complete verification?
If you haven't activated the BBono Energético yet, you can do so at any time from the app by going to Menu > BBono Energético and following the on-screen instructions.
If you've already activated it, you'll receive an in-app notification reminding you to complete the verification process before the required deadline.
