Tribe FAQ

A Tribe is a token-gated alpha channel with a default capacity of 12 members.

Tribe uses a quadratic bonding curve, meaning the price of a creator's token increases quadratically as the token supply grows.

When you buy tokens, new tokens are minted. When you sell, tokens are burned.

Specifically, the token price (in SOL) is calculated as:

Price = [(supply + amount)^3 - supply^3] / 300,000,000

Where:

You need at least 10 tokens to be eligible for any Tribe. A Tribe's capacity is determined by the creator (12, 24, or 99 members).

When a Tribe is full, you will need more tokens than the member with the fewest tokens to join.

Yes, you can trade tokens without joining a Tribe or paying any subscription fees.

To remain in a Tribe, you need to pay tokens as a subscription fee (unless the creator has disabled fees). These fees go directly to the creator and are streamed daily. The first 7 days in the Tribe are free.

There are currently three subscription fee tiers:

• 4.5 tokens per month (0.15 token/day)

• 1.5 tokens per month (0.05 token/day)

• No fees

This system incentivizes creators to engage with their Tribe members over the long term. Creators have the option to disable subscription fees, and you can view a Tribe’s settings on the creator’s page.

If the creator has the subscription fee enabled, tokens will be deducted from your account every day after the trial period (0.15 or 0.05 token / day depending on creator's setting). This deduction is possible because of Solana token delegation.

However, if the creator hasn’t sent a message in the chat for 7 days, no subscription payments will be made until they send a new message.

If after a deduction you don't own enough tokens to stay in a chat room, you will be immediately removed from the chat (i.e. "booted").

Yes, for each new creator, there is a 250-token buy limit per account during the first 24 hours. This ensures a fair distribution of tokens when a new Tribe launches.

Any user can create a permanent referral link once they have traded 0.5 SOL of any tokens or their Tribe token has reached 0.5 SOL of total volume.

When you refer someone:

Trading fee rewards apply for the first 5000 SOL volume and discounts apply for the first 200 SOL volume.

Yes—you can ask questions directly to a creator without joining their Tribe. Each question costs 0.5 token, held in escrow until the creator responds.

The creator may choose to answer or refuse to answer. If answered, the tokens are released to the creator; if refused, the tokens are refunded to you.

You can airdrop most Solana tokens to any Tribe at near zero cost. Navigate to the creator page and click the airdrop icon (located at the bottom right of the price chart). From there, you can choose an existing token or transfer tokens to your wallet before initiating the airdrop.

Navigate to "Account" Tab and click on "Claim Airdrops"

Today directly connecting an external Solana wallet isn't supported - you must create an embedded wallet via Privy.

But adding this feature is on our roadmap.

We don't have any public API available yet, but this is definitely something that we want to support.

The only way to create a token is to create a tribe. You need to connect your socials (Twitter or Farcaster) and have at least ~0.03 SOL in your wallet.

You can also use pump.fun or daos.fun to launch a token and airdrop to a tribe.

Tribe is still in beta and invite only. You need an invite link from an existing user to create your account.

Liquidation value is the amount of SOL you would receive if you sold all your tokens on the bonding curve right now.

Because Tribe tokens trade on a bonding curve, the token price increases as supply grows and decreases as supply shrinks. This means your portfolio value (price × tokens owned) can be misleading, as selling tokens reduces their price. Liquidation value gives you a more accurate measure of what you’d actually receive if you sold your tokens right now.

Export your embedded wallet to an external wallet app like Phantom and you should be able to find these assets.

To export your wallet, go to Account tab -> Settings -> Export wallet.

Your creator and referral fees are automatically sent to your Tribe wallet. No withdrawals are needed—funds are available instantly.

Not at the moment.

1. Go to the Account tab.

2. Click the gear-shaped Settings icon in the top-right corner.

3. In the Settings menu, click Sign out.

This will log you out of the app immediately.
