Stripe Account Verification Requirements

Important information needed to verify your Stripe account.

Stripe has certain requirements to verify your identity when you create a Stripe Merchant Account through Triib. It's important that the information you enter into Stripe exactly matches that on your tax and government-issued identification documents. If your information isn't entered accurately, your account may become disabled.

If additional requirements are due, you will see a flag on your Triib account similar to this and you'll want to update your Stripe Account Information.

Basic Information that is required when creating a Stripe Merchant Account:

Individual/Owner Information:

  • Legal first/last name

  • DOB

  • SSN

  • Ownership Status

  • Address

Company Information:

  • Business Name

  • EIN

  • DBA

  • Address

Verification Documents

In order for Stripe to verify your account, you may need to upload documents that validate your personal and business information. The information you enter in for Personal and Company must exactly match what is listed on the verification documents you provide. These verification documents will vary by country.

Document requirements:

  • Documents must be uploaded in full color (i.e. no black-and-white scans)

  • Documents must be clear and large enough to read

  • Photocopies of identity documents are not acceptable

  • Documents must be valid and not expired

  • Complete documents must be uploaded. A complete document is defined as:

  • Documents can be uploaded in .png or .jpg format (photos and color scans acceptable)

  • Passport card

  • Driver license — scans of front and back are required

  • State issued ID card

  • Resident permit ID / U.S. Green Card
