The Guest Types feature allows to configure the booking process so that:
The total price will remain the same regardless of the number of participants
or
The price remains fixed per person based on the number of participants selected according to the group size.
The Guest Types feature is available under More > Data Management in the left-hand menu.
How to set it up
To create and apply a Guest Type, follow the steps below.
1. Create a new Guest Type
Click NEW GUEST TYPE on the top right-hand side and complete the following fields:
Name
Enter a descriptive name for the guest type, for example "2- 4 pax" or "Group of 4 people".
Category
Select one of the following categories:
Single
The price changes depending on the number of participants.
Example: A guided tour is offered with the below guest types and consequent pricing options:
€50 per person for groups of 2–4 people. If 3 people are selected, the total cost will be 3x€50=€150
€40 per person for groups of 5–8 people. If 6 people are selected, the total cost will be 6x€40=€240
Group
The price remains the same regardless of the number of participants.
Example: A sailing tour is offered for up to 7 people and costs €700. In this case the total cost remains at €700, regardless if 1 or 7 people participate.
Minimum number of participants
Select the minimum number of participants that can be allocated to the guest type.
Maximum number of participants
Select the maximum number of participants that can be allocated to the guest type.
Description
Enter the description of the guest type (for internal use only-not shown on widget).
Click Save once done.
Notes:
If the guest type applies to a specific number of participants (e.g. exactly 5 people), set the minimum and maximum number of participants to the same value. If additional pricing options are required, repeat the steps above to create more guest types.
Products associated with a Guest Type can be viewed in the Products section within the specific Guest Type.
2. Connect the Guest Type to the product pricing
After creating the guest type(s), they must be linked to the relevant product in order to be applied to its pricing.
To do so, proceed to the product's pricing and in the Pricing model, select Price per guest type:
Then, choose the specific Guest Type created from the available options:
3. Check your work - Display on widget
Go to More > Booking Buttons to preview the product on the widget and verify that the pricing is displayed correctly.
Guest type pricing is applied during the second stage of the booking process.
"Group" Guest Type:
When the Group Guest Type is applied, the total price remains the same regardless of the number of participants selected.
"Single" Guest Type:
When the Single Guest Type is applied, the total price changes depending on the number of participants selected.
