Tickets

Create and manage digital tickets with unique QR codes to streamline attendee check-in for activities and events.

The Tickets feature enables efficient attendee management for activities and events by generating a unique QR code ticket for each participant in a booking. These tickets can be scanned using the Triparound Scanner app to quickly validate attendance, streamline the check-in process and keep track of attendee arrivals.

Once enabled and configured for a product, tickets are automatically created for confirmed bookings and can be shared with customers, scanned at check-in and managed directly from the Triparound dashboard.

1. Enabling the Tickets feature

To create tickets for a specific product, navigate to Product Settings & Policies > Tickets.

Once enabled, additional ticket settings become available and can be configured based on the requirements of the activity or event.

These settings include:

  • Allowing batch scanning of all tickets within a booking

  • Allowing tickets to be scanned multiple times

  • Defining the permitted check-in period before and after the activity start time

Generate QR code for each participant of the booking

Enable this option to generate a unique QR code for each participant of the booking.

Example:

A booking is made for an event taking place on September 1 and September 2 with two participants. In this case, four QR codes are generated in total: one ticket for each participant for each booked day.

Allow batch scanning of the whole booking

Enable this option to allow all tickets associated with a booking to be checked in at once.

When the first QR code is scanned, the scanner app detects that multiple tickets are linked to the same booking and provides the option to automatically check in the remaining tickets without scanning each ticket individually.

Note: This option applies only when a booking includes more than one ticket.

Allow ticket(s) to be scanned multiple times

Enable this option to allow the same ticket/QR code to be scanned more than once.

Example:

A Hop-on Hop-off Bus tour may require customers to use the service multiple times. In this case, the ticket needs to remain valid for repeated scans.

Specify the time period customers can check in before the start time of the activity

Define how early customers are allowed to check in before the activity starts.

The check-in period can be configured in days, hours, or minutes.

Example:

If a 2-hour check-in period is configured and the activity starts at 10:00 PM, check-in becomes available from 8:00 PM onwards.

Note: At least one field within this section must be completed. The default value for hours is 1 hour and can be adjusted as required.

Specify the time period customers can check in after the start time of the activity

Define how long after the activity starts customers are still allowed to check in.

The check-in period can be configured in days, hours, or minutes.

Example:
If a 2-hour check-in period is configured and the activity starts at 10:00 PM, check-in remains available until 12:00 AM.

Note: This setting is optional. The default value for hours is 1 hour and can be adjusted as required.

2. Creating tickets

Tickets are automatically created once a booking is confirmed.

To generate tickets and QR codes, a booking must first be created and have the status CONFIRMED. Once confirmed, a ticket is automatically generated for each eligible participant and session.

3. Sending tickets to customers

After a booking has been confirmed, an email notification must be sent for customers to receive their tickets.

The email includes the QR code(s) associated with each participant and booked session.

Note: Tickets can also be downloaded as a PDF from the email notification.

The PDF ticket displays as follows:

4. Scanning tickets

Tickets can be scanned using the Triparound Scanner app on a mobile device.

To scan a ticket:

  • Open the Triparound scanner app: hub.triparound.com

  • Log in using your Triparound credentials.

  • Enable camera access.

  • Scan the ticket QR codes.

Depending on the ticket status and check-in rules, different messages may appear:

  • Successful scan

  • Unsuccessful scan

  • Ticket already checked in

  • Check-in attempted too early

  • Check-in attempted too late

  • Booking cancelled

Note: Once logged into the Triparound scanner app, users are prompted to install the app on their mobile device. Installing the app is recommended for faster access during check-in.

5. Managing tickets

All created tickets are available in the Tickets section from the left-hand side menu.

The Tickets table provides the following information:

  • Booking ID

  • Ticket ID

  • Event date/time

  • Check-in date/time

  • Customer

Note: The Check-in status can be manually updated from the corresponding field when required.

Ticket details, including the Ticket ID and Check-in status, are also available within the related booking under the Tickets section.
