How to use the Waiting List functionality

The Waiting List feature allows customers join a waitlist for booking if availability opens up.

Updated over a month ago

The Waiting List feature allows customers to be added to a waitlist when a product or service is fully booked. This ensures that customers are given the opportunity to book in the event of a cancellation or new availability, improving booking management and customer experience.

How to set it up

  • Navigate to the Settings & Policies section of the product.

  • Under Bookings, locate the Waiting List feature.

  • To enable the Waiting List feature for the specific product, toggle the setting for Waiting list allowed.

Note:

If enabled, the β€œWaiting List” functionality will be available to the users through the BOOK NOW button within the platform, meaning that the business will be able to insert a customer into the waiting list for the selected fully booked time slot.

  • Then, complete the fields that will appear.

Maximum Guests on Waiting List: Set the maximum number of allowed customers on the waiting list.

Enabled on widget: Activate to enable the waiting list on the widget.

Note:

If enabled, the β€œWaiting List” functionality will also be available through the widget, meaning that when a specific time slot(s) is fully booked, customers can join the waiting list.

Automatically book waiting list bookings upon cancelations: Enable this option to automatically assign available slots to customers on the waiting list.

Note:

The allocation is based on a first-come, first served basis according to the booking date and time.

Click SAVE once done.

Important:

  • Number of participants must always be selected first for the correct availability to be provided. This applies both to back-office bookings made by platform users through the BOOK NOW button and online bookings made by customers through the widget.

  • If Overbooking and Waiting List functionality are both enabled, then overbooked bookings will be served first before proceeding to open the wait list.

The Waiting List functionality allows the Business to sell the same amount of goods and services as specified for each product; for selling beyond the allocated capacity, learn more about the Overbooking functionality.
