Each proposal has its own settings: name, dates, description, cover photo, and pricing visibility. This article walks through the Edit Proposal Settings modal and the one rule worth knowing about how proposal dates work.

Open the proposal settings

  1. Open the proposal you want to edit.

  2. Click the menu next to the proposal title at the top.

  3. Click Edit Settings.

The Edit Proposal Settings modal opens with two tabs: Basic Details and Pricing.

Basic Details

The Basic Details tab covers the proposal's name, dates, description, and cover photo.

Name

The proposal name shown to your client. Common patterns are destination-based (for example, "Vacay in May - Korea") or tier-based (for example, "Premium Package").

Dates and duration

A proposal can be set up two ways:

  • With fixed Start Date and End Date

  • As a number of days only, using the Add Dates Later checkbox

When Add Dates Later is checked, the Start Date and End Date fields disappear and a Number of Days field appears instead. The proposal canvas shows generic "Day 1", "Day 2", and so on, without specific dates.

One important rule about dates

Once a proposal has been saved with actual Start and End dates, you can no longer switch it back to a day count. The Add Dates Later option disappears from the Edit Proposal Settings modal for that proposal.

This rule applies per proposal, so other proposals in the same trip can still use day-count mode independently.

Shortening the duration

If you shorten a proposal's duration, whether by adjusting the End Date or reducing the day count, TripLoft will ask how to handle components on the days being removed. You can:

  • Remove those components entirely

  • Move them all to the last remaining day

  • Redistribute them sequentially across the remaining days

Proposal Description

A free-text description shown at the top of the proposal in the client view. Use the rich text toolbar to add formatting, links, or images. You can also use Ask AI to help refine the content.

Cover Photo

The cover photo appears on the proposal preview and on client-facing cards. You have two ways to set it:

  • Search royalty-free images via Pixabay using the search bar

  • Upload your own photo (max 5MB) by dragging it into the upload area or clicking Select from device

Pricing

The Pricing tab controls how prices are shown to your client.

Currency

Set the currency for all prices in this proposal. The default is USD.

Price Visibility

Three options control what your client sees:

  • Show all prices: travelers see the cost of each activity or package, plus the trip total.

  • Show trip total only: travelers see only the total cost. Individual activity and package costs are hidden.

  • Hide all prices: travelers do not see any pricing details. The Pricing tab is hidden entirely from the client view.

Different proposals in the same trip can have different visibility settings. For example, a premium tier proposal might show all prices, while a budget tier proposal might show only the total.

Save or cancel

After making changes:

  • Click Save to apply them

  • Click Cancel to discard them

Changes saved here are stored in TripLoft but are not automatically pushed to the client portal. Use the Publish button to push the latest changes to your client (see Build a Basic Proposal for the full Save vs. Publish flow).
