An automation runs a sequence of actions automatically when a chosen event occurs - for example, emailing a client when a trip is created, or creating a task before a passport expires. Each automation is built from a trigger (the event that starts it) and one or more actions (what happens next).
Access Automations
Navigate to Templates → Automations. The Automations page displays all your automations, each showing its name, type, trigger, status, and last updated date.
Use Search Automations to find a specific automation, or use the Type filter to show only Trip or Contact automations.
How Automations Work
Every automation follows the same structure:
Trigger - The event that starts the automation, based on its type. Trip automations trigger on trip events; Contact automations trigger on contact milestones.
Actions - The steps that run when the trigger fires, such as sending an email or creating a task. An automation can have multiple actions, which run in order.

Activate or Deactivate an Automation
Each automation has a status you can toggle:
Active - The automation is live and runs whenever its trigger occurs.
Inactive - The automation is disabled and won't run.
Toggle the status from the Automations list or within the builder.
Create, Edit, and Delete
Create - Click Add to open the Create Automation modal and start a new automation.
Edit - Open any automation to load it in the Automation Builder and make changes.
Delete - Use the delete option and confirm. The automation is removed.
