In the True Energy app you can choose between the following modes that can influence your Tesla's sleep mode:

Smart Charge
This mode charges the car based on the charging plan you have created. Sleep mode is activated, and when the car does not charge, it will fall asleep.

Manual

If you have deactivated Smart Charge, the car will switch to manual mode and the car will charge continuously, as long as you have your charging cable connected. Sleep mode is disabled in this mode.

Offline

You select this option by going into your car and down under settings. This mode can be selected if you are likely to be away from the car for an extended period of time, for example, if you park it at the airport. This interrupts all communication between the car and the app, and it will therefore fall into a deep sleep.

Troubleshooting

If you find that your Tesla does not fall asleep, then there may be one or more reasons for this. You may have put the app in manual mode and sleep mode is deactivated, or you have one or more apps connected to your Tesla that keeps it awake. It can for example be TeslaFI, EVEconnect or similar.

Here is a guide to if you experience that your car will not fall asleep:

In the True Energy app, you have the option to turn on sleep mode, so that when the car does not charge, it is automatically put to sleep.

Try the following procedure, and if you still find that the car will not sleep, send a message via the app, and then our support department will help you further.

  1. Close all Tesla-related apps

  2. Change the password for your Tesla, as this will cause all apps to lose contact with Tesla's API.

  3. Open the True Energy app and click on car and select your Tesla.

  4. Click on advanced settings and activate sleep mode.

  5. Then you should like to experience that your Tesla starts to sleep.

Now the car should be able to fall asleep. Next, you can open your other apps one by one to see which ones prevent your Tesla from falling asleep.

Should you, against expectations, still experience that it has difficulty falling asleep, you are welcome to write to our support department via the chat, which you can find in the app.
