Many of our users ask for specific numbers or proof for how much they can save. This of course depends on how much and how often you charge and also on when you charge. We base the amount you save on the electricity price when you plug in the cable and compare that price to the price during the time we charge your car (the hours with the lowest price).
Example 1: Two users charge history for October 2022
In the examples below we use data for October for two loyal and happy True Energy users. Numbers may vary from month to month as prices fluctuate, but for October 2022 they have saved 1,5 DKK per kWh on average by charging during the cheapest hours:
User 1: Number of kWh: 626, savings: 904 DKK, 7 kg CO2 emission saved
User 2: Number of kWh: 154, savings: 226 DKK, 3 kg CO2 emission saved
Example 2: Kia e-Niro, 67 kW battery
Charging 33 kWh with 11 kW 02-05 compared to 17-20.
In just night you can save 85,80 DKK - or more - using smart charge. During 3 hours an average EV will charge kWh, a little less than half of an average EV battery size.
Electricity price: Spot price + tariff (Radius), January 2nd 2023 was app. 3,50 DKK* from 17-20 and app. 0,90 DKK* from 02-05.
Savings = 33 kWh x 3,5 DKK = 115,50 โ (33 kWh x 0,9 DKK) = 85,80 DKK.
