We offer Smart Home via IFTTT in Danmark and Norway. Read here, how you create a user.

With True Smart Home you can control more than 600 different electrical units from the True Energy app, so that you use the electricity when it is either cheapest or greenest.

The technology is the same as for our smart charge rules for EVs, but integrated with your Smart Home electrical units.

We can control IFTTT when the electricity is either:

- Cheapest
- Most expensive
- Most eco friendly (low CO2 emission)
- Least eco friendly (high CO2 emisssion)

Here are a some examples:

Definition of True Energys Smart Home:
We calculate the difference between the minimum and maximum prices during a day. Prices that are minimum +25% of that difference are marked as "cheap". Prices that are maximum -25% of that difference are marked as "expensive". The rest is marked as "normal".

Example 1:
If the electricity prices during a day is between 1-5 DKK then the difference is 4 DKK. 25% of 4 DKK is 1 DKK:

  • Prices between 1-2 DKK are "cheap"

  • Prices between 4-5 DKK are "expensive"

  • Prices between 2-4 DKK are "normal"

Example 2:
If CO2 emission for a particular day is 1-5 g then the difference is 4 g. 25% of 4 g is 1 g:

  • CO2 emission between 1-2 g is "cheap"

  • CO2 emission between 4-5 g is "expensive"

  • CO2 emission between 2-4 g is "normal"

How does it work?
True Energy sends information to IFTTT and they generate actions and communicate with the users.

The specific communication lies with IFTTT and is outside of True Energy's control.
