Zap Setup Tutorial
NEW!
Add notes to contacts or requests through Zapier.
Specify Contact Type and Drip Campaign to use when sending a review request.
Zapier is a web application that allows multiple applications to talk to one another. By using Zapier, you can connect your existing CRM, ERM, POS or any application you use to manage your customers with TrueReview. Find out if your application has an integration with Zapier here.
Can't find your app in Zapier?
In some cases, the application you want to connect to Zapier will be able to create a Webhook, and create a connection between your account and Zapier. Then, you can link it to TrueReview. Contact the application developers to see if they can create a Zapier Webhook.
This allows customer information to be transferred from your application to TrueReview, to create contacts in your TrueReview account, or send review requests to your customers right away.
For example, when an invoice is marked as paid in Square, Zapier will tell TrueReview to send the customer a review request, or will add the customer to your TrueReview contacts page.
You can choose from different triggers with different applications.
Triggers & Actions
A Zapier connection/automation is called a "Zap". Each Zap consists of a trigger and one or more actions, like creating a contact in your contacts page, or automatically sending a review request.
When you turn your Zap on, it will run the action steps every time the trigger event occurs.
TrueReview comes with two actions:
Create Contact: Add the customer's Name, Phone and Email to the contacts page of your TrueReview location.
Create Request: Send a review request to a customer based on your Zap settings.
The TrueReview connection always comes second, since TrueReview only provides Actions and not Triggers. Your Zap will look similar to this, except the first app will be whatever app you choose to connect.
You can select which Action TrueReview should perform from the "Event" dropdown of your TrueReview Action step.
Adding Data Inputs
In order for TrueReview to know who to send the requests to, you'll need to connect the information coming from your first app to TrueReview in the Action step.
Click into each field, and add the corresponding information that comes from the first app you have connected in the Zap.
The Name field is optional, however recommended.
In order for the Zap to work, either a Phone or Email needs to be linked.
Search for the name, and click on the data that you want to be used for the name field.
If you're adding First Name and Last Name separately, make sure to add a space between them.
Do the same for the other input fields. Your information may look different.
Now, let's check out the "Drip Campaign" and "Contact Type"
These are optional fields. If you do not select one of the options, the Zap will use whichever Drip Campaign or Contact Type you have actively selected or set as a default in your TrueReview settings page.
If you select one of the options in your Zap, you will create an override. This means, even if you change the settings and select a different campaign as your default, have a different contact type selected, it will always use the campaign and contact type that is selected in your Zap settings.
Remember to always Publish your changes for the latest Zap settings to save.
I'm receiving the following error from Zapier:
If you're receiving the error "SMS not yet enabled, or your plan does not support SMS requests."
This means:
You have not yet submitted business information for verification
You've submitted business information, however it is pending verification
Your plan does not support SMS review requests.
SMS review requests are available in the Small Business and Premium plans once a verification is completed by network carriers.
❤️ Zapier integration is available on all TrueReview plans.
