Why Does the Time Show as 00:00 for Pod viewers?

Occasionally, you may notice that a viewer of a Pod has a timestamp showing as 00:00. Here are some common reasons why this might happen.

1. Adblocker Blocking Analytics

Some viewers may have adblockers or privacy-focused browser extensions enabled that interfere with our analytics tracking. This can prevent us from collecting data about their visit, resulting in a timestamp of 00:00.

2. Flagged as a Bot

Our system is designed to detect and flag bot traffic to ensure accurate analytics. If a viewer is flagged as a bot, their activity may not be fully logged, leading to a timestamp of 00:00.

3. Quick Tab Closure

If a viewer closes the tab or navigates away from the page immediately after opening, we may not record any analytics data. Visits shorter than 1.2 seconds may result in a 00:00 timestamp.

4. Device or Browser-Specific Issues

Occasionally, there may be unknown issues stemming from the viewer’s device or browser settings that prevent analytics from being logged correctly.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check for Adblockers: If you suspect the issue is related to adblockers, ask the viewer to whitelist the Pod domain and revisit the page.

  • Verify User Behaviour: If possible, confirm whether the viewer navigated away quickly or if there’s a pattern of 00:00 timestamps for multiple viewers

  • Report Unusual Behaviour: If none of the above explains the issue, feel free to reach out to our support team with details of the affected visits, and we’ll investigate further.

We hope this clears up any confusion about 00:00 timestamps! If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
