What is a custom email domain?
Adding a custom email domain will mean that the emails sent to your prospects from trumpet will come from an email with your domain (for example, when a comment has been left in the pod, or Mutual Action Plan notifications) the email will come from your custom domain, not trumpet's domain.

What do I need to be able to use them?
You will need to be on the Elite plan for email custom domains to be enabled on your account.

You must have a subdomain created on your existing domain that can be used as the email domain.

You may need to contact your internal tech team to confirm this is set up.

If you own the domain “example.com”, you will need to add the subdomain of your choice, this could be “mail.example.com”, “messaging.example.com”, or whatever takes your fancy! You can also use wildcard domains, but the subdomain you want to use shouldn’t be in use already.

What do I need to do?

There are three records that need to be added to your DNS provider, two TXT records and one CNAME record. When you add the domain on the trumpet platform these will be visible and can be copied and pasted onto your DNS. Emails will only send from your domain when the set up is valid, until then they will continue to send from trumpet.

I have added all the text records but it is not showing up as verified?

Sometimes it can take a while for it to verify, if it takes over 48 hours to show as verified, contact trumpet support and we can help.

Can this set up receive emails to this domain?

No, this is a no-reply email domain.

What do I do if I want to change my domain?

To change a domain, simply delete and add the new one you would like to use. This will not change any previously sent emails.

What are the benefits?
Using a custom email domain means that emails sent from trumpet (such as pod comments or Mutual Action Plan updates) come from your company’s domain, not trumpet’s. This means:

  • Instant trust – emails come from a familiar, recognisable domain

  • Clear branding – all communication feels like it’s coming directly from you

  • Better visibility – emails are more likely to land in the inbox, not spam

  • Consistent experience – your pod, website, and emails all feel connected

Example:
Instead of an email coming from @sendtrumpet.com, it could come from
notifications@messaging.yourcompany.com.

This helps customers immediately recognise the sender, engage faster, and feel confident interacting with the content.
