Why should I be allowed to choose my own AI provider?
It ensures flexibility, avoids forced dependency on a single vendor, and lets you align AI usage with your internal standards, contracts, and risk tolerance.
Which AI providers are supported?
Common providers include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, with support limited to vendors that meet security, reliability, and API stability requirements.
Is data retained or used for training?
No. Under our commercial agreements, none of the AI providers we work with - OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google - use customer data submitted through our platform to train their models.
Anthropic and Google both offer zero data retention. OpenAI does not use customer data for training however, limited data retention may occur where legally required or as otherwise outlined in OpenAI’s published policies.
Do features change depending on the provider I select?
Core functionality remains the same, while output quality, latency, and specific model capabilities may vary based on the selected provider
Who is responsible for AI usage costs?
AI usage is currently included in the trumpet seat. We may move to a consumption model in the future.
How is data handled when selecting a provider?
Requests are sent directly from the application to the selected provider using Vercel's gateway. No model training or data reuse beyond the provider’s stated policies.
Is this suitable for enterprise security and compliance requirements?
Yes, enterprises can use pre approved vendors, enforce internal governance, and satisfy procurement, legal, and data residency constraints.
What happens if my provider experiences downtime or policy changes?
Availability and policy decisions follow the selected provider. Customers are allowed to select another provider from the list.
Can I switch providers later?
Providers can be changed without migrating application data, allowing adaptation to pricing changes, performance needs, or vendor strategy shifts.
Does this increase setup or maintenance complexity?
No it does not. It's as simple as a toggle switch in within the brand settings, under AI settings.
How does this benefit small and medium businesses?
SMBs gain cost transparency, avoid bundled pricing markups, and can start with lower cost providers while retaining the option to scale or switch later.

Only admins can change the provider at this time
