Introducing trumpet CoPilot & Canvas 🤖

CoPilot is trumpet's built-in AI assistant that lets you build, update, and manage your Pods and Mutual Action Plans using natural language - just type or talk, and CoPilot takes care of the rest. Canvas is CoPilot's newest capability: a "vibe coding" widget that lets you build fully custom, interactive widgets from a simple prompt, no code required.

CoPilot is available to all Elite customers with it enabled in Settings. If you don't see it, ask your workspace admin to turn it on.

What is CoPilot?

CoPilot lives directly inside trumpet and helps you:

  • Build, edit, and update Pods

  • Find and insert content from your CMS into Pods

  • Create and update Mutual Action Plans (MAPs) from your Gong call recordings

  • Pull in context from external tools like Notion, HubSpot, Linear, Granola, and Sybill via the MCP Client

  • Build fully custom widgets from scratch with Canvas

Under the hood, CoPilot runs on trained trumpet Agents. When you ask for something, a coordinator reads your request and hands the work to the right specialist:

  • Sales - researches accounts, checks engagement stats and stakeholder details, and writes briefs

  • Pod Planner - works out which pages and widgets you need and plans the build

  • Content Builder - creates and updates widgets: text blocks, images, and saved widgets from your library

  • MAP - creates and manages Mutual Action Plans: steps, groups, deadlines, and assignees

  • Pod Settings - creates new Pods and updates prospect details, themes, and colours

  • Canvas - builds fully custom, interactive widgets from a prompt

You'll usually just see one conversation, but for bigger requests (e.g. "research this account and build a Pod for them") the work is split across these specialists behind the scenes.

Agent mode vs Ask mode

  • Agent mode - CoPilot acts in your Pod, executing tasks and making changes directly

  • Ask mode - read-only; CoPilot answers questions and does research but won't change anything until you switch back to Agent mode

What can CoPilot do?

Pod creation & editing

  • Create a Pod from scratch or from a template using natural language

  • Edit a Pod's pages, widgets, colours, fonts, ordering, and visibility

  • Move, hide, or duplicate widgets without touching the editor

  • Auto-brand a Pod based on your prospect or customer

MAP creation & editing

  • Create a full Mutual Action Plan from a Gong call recording

  • Update steps, stages, assignees, content, and due dates via natural language

  • Attach documents to steps and add new steps based on a call

Content intelligence

  • Read and interpret documents you attach (PDFs, Excel files, and more)

  • Find and work with Gong call recordings - search by company name and date

  • Search your CMS by keywords and tags, then add content directly into a Pod widget

  • Search your saved widgets and pages and add them to a Pod

  • Recommend relevant content to add based on Pod context

Bringing in context from external tools (MCP Client)

  • Connect external tools so CoPilot can pull in context from your wider stack, not just Gong

  • Works with Notion, HubSpot, Linear, Granola, Sybill, and any custom MCP server your admin adds

  • Add a connected app via the + button in the chat so CoPilot can reference it as context - even if it's already connected, it needs to be added to the chat first

Widget editing

  • Read existing widget content and make targeted edits

  • "Pin" a specific widget in the chat to give CoPilot precise context for edits

  • Create new widgets from scratch based on call context (e.g. Three Whys, Executive Summary, ROI)

  • Identify and work with widgets using @-mentions

Pod styling

  • Update Pod and widget colours via natural language

  • Update font settings

  • Auto-brand colours based on your prospect's palette - no need to go into settings

Search & analytics

  • Search your trumpet CMS with natural language and add results to a Pod

  • Query your trumpet Pod insights and analytics directly in the chat

  • CoPilot recognises Pod viewers, their roles, and your saved templates

Canvas: build any widget you can imagine 💙

Canvas is CoPilot's "vibe coding" widget. It lets you build any type of widget content using natural language, no code required. Under the hood it generates an HTML widget, so anything an HTML widget can do, Canvas can do.

What's possible

  • Build fully custom, branded widgets from a prompt: interactive ROI calculators, pricing tier displays, quizzes, and more

  • Widgets can be interactive in live view (sliders, toggles, and inputs that recalculate values as the buyer changes them)

  • Widgets can include animations (e.g. a celebration animation when a buyer scores well on a quiz)

  • CoPilot can use attached context (Gong calls, uploaded documents, brand colours) to shape the content

  • Rule of thumb: whatever CoPilot and the standard widgets can't do, you can likely do with Canvas via a prompt

Example uses

  • A sales velocity ROI calculator with two side-by-side scenarios (current state vs. with your product), with configurable inputs like deal volume, win rate, and deal value - the buyer adjusts values and sees results recalculate live, in your brand colours

  • Pricing tiers displayed visually in your brand colours, generated from a single prompt listing your tiers and features

  • A buyer enablement quiz built from an uploaded report, in your prospect's brand palette, with a celebration animation for a high score

Things to know about Canvas

  • Interactions are live only, not permanent - if a buyer toggles something on in live view, that state won't persist across sessions

  • Canvas widgets can only be edited via CoPilot prompts, not directly in the editor - to make changes, keep prompting

  • Like any AI-generated output, expect to iterate - a detailed prompt gets you most of the way, and a few follow-ups get you the rest

Example Canvas prompts to try

  • Create a Canvas widget: build a sales velocity ROI calculator with two scenarios, current state and with [PRODUCT], with configurable inputs the prospect can change

  • Create a Canvas widget: display our pricing in four sections for our four account types, using our brand colours

  • [Attach document] Build a quiz based on the stats in this report, in [PROSPECT]'s brand palette, with a celebration animation for a top score

How to use CoPilot

Adding context to your prompts

  • Use the + button to attach files or add a Gong call (search by company name - don't paste a Gong link directly, use the native integration)

  • Use the + button to reference any connected MCP apps

  • Use @ to mention specific pages or widgets as context for your prompt

  • The page you're currently on is automatically added as context - hover over it to remove or swap it

  • The more context you give CoPilot, the better the results

Running multiple chats

  • Run separate tasks in separate chat threads

  • Each chat has a context limit, so open a new thread for each major task rather than running everything in one

Controlling what CoPilot sees

  • You can exclude specific template pages from being read by CoPilot

  • In the template, open the page settings and toggle on "Exclude from AI CoPilot" - CoPilot won't read or edit that page on Pods created from the template

Pinning a widget

"Pin" a specific widget in the chat to give CoPilot precise context for edits. Use it when you want to target a specific widget without ambiguity.

Giving feedback

After every CoPilot response, you'll see a 👍 / 👎 option. Please use it - your feedback directly improves CoPilot over time. If you click 👎, add a comment so the team understands what went wrong.

Good to know

  • CoPilot can't edit templates directly yet - support for this is coming

  • Chats time out after 13 minutes of inactivity - if it's been longer since your last message, start a new chat

  • CoPilot can't read Google Docs yet - convert to PDF and attach it via the + button instead

  • Some file formats can be inconsistent to read, especially .txt - PDF or DOCX work best

  • CoPilot can hide a widget or page but not delete it - use the settings or three-dot menu to delete

  • Connect your call recording software via the MCP Client so CoPilot can read recordings natively - direct links aren't supported

  • Integration widgets need to be created and updated manually

  • CoPilot isn't instant - it works in the background, so treat it like handing off a task rather than a live back-and-forth

What's coming next

  • Chat shortcuts - each chat will show shortcuts for what it's for, making it easier to navigate between threads

  • Multiple Gong calls per chat - add several calls to the same conversation for richer context

  • Glean integration - connect Glean via the MCP Client so CoPilot can pull company context from anywhere in your stack

  • CoPilot Agents - Pods updated automatically after calls or CRM changes; just confirm and accept the changes
